The Pokemon TCG is particularly kind to Eevee and its evolved forms, with some of the most valuable Eeveelution cards standing out among the best cards to collect. As one of the first five Eeveelutions, Espeon stands out as one of the most popular, and its debut in Johto alongside Umbreon was so long ago, that it had time to gain plenty of fans.

While Espeon's most valuable cards are primarily vintage offerings, one of the best modern sets makes an appearance with a fabulous depiction of Espeon that stands as one of the best we've ever seen. However, with more portrayals of the Eeveelutions destined to appear in the Scarlet and Violet era, Espeon may see a shakeup again soon.

Cards are ordered according to their TCGPlayer Market Price, which you might pay on average for a copy of the (first edition where applicable) cards below.

Given the age and rarity of certain cards, only those with an established market price on TCGplayer are included.

However, sale prices differ depending on the card's condition, so this market price is just a rough idea of the card's value.

6 Espeon: Delta Species (Holo Rare) – $125.00

A Precarious Position

Espeon sets itself apart with a diverse collection of poses and portrayals from a variety of sets, though light and dark motifs are frequently present. Delta Species isn't only associated with Eeveelutions, but this Espeon boasts an impressive market price to kick things off.

However, there's more to the market price than meets the eye, as this card lacks adequate data.

The holo version of this card outsells the reverse holo by a wide margin, with the former boasting a $99 sale in NM condition, while the reverse can't even break $20. However, there aren't any recent sales above $100, creating a need to see more sales to support the TCGplayer estimation.

5 Espeon: First Edition Neo Discovery (Holo Rare) – $128.19

A First Edition Fan Favorite

Neo Discovery touts one of the most incredible sets of cards ever released, with the first edition version commanding a significant premium over later printings. This Espeon is featured on the left side of the card, which leaves the entire right side open for holo patterns to appear.

In lightly played (LP) condition, first edition copies of this card can reach as much as $360, though there's a severe lack of further sales data to analyze for first edition cards. However, with NM Unlimited copies selling for around the market price, they're far more affordable in comparison.

4 Espeon VMAX: Fusion Strike (Secret Rare) – $189.99

Falling Fast

While some of the best cards in Fusion Strike saw a massive uptick in 2024 during the alt-art surge, this card suffered one of the most dramatic downturns of any card that experienced a boom. However, if you're buying this card to enjoy the art, then that should be music to your ears.

Espeon once sat around the $125 mark in early 2024, before the alt-art surge from March through June sent prices skyrocketing to almost $350. However, since hitting that mark, this card has dropped significantly, collapsing to its current market price, and losing almost 50 percent of its total max value.

3 Espeon: Aquapolis (Holo Rare) – $235.24

Brighter And Better

Aquapolis stands out as one of the most beloved vintage Pokemon TCG sets thanks to its exceptional combination of bright colors, special scenes, and incredible rarity. This Espeon embodies some of the set's best traits, making a mark thanks to its brilliant blue background.

Unfortunately, its rarity makes it difficult to assess this card's position in the market, with only a handful of sales to scan. Moderately played (MP) cards are selling solidly above $130, while heavily played (HP) sales average roughly $100.

2 Dark Espeon: First Edition Neo Destiny (Holo Rare) – $275.00

The Allure Of The Dark Side

Dark Espeon is one of the standout cards from Neo Destiny, especially in first edition, which sends its price through the roof. While this Espeon appears ready for a nap like its Fusion Strike version, this card's rarity is on an entirely different level.

Only a single LP first edition copy was sold on TCGplayer recently, setting the market price. However, as you might expect, opting for the Unlimited version can net you a massive discount, with NM copies selling for about $180, with LP dropping to around $100.

1 Espeon EX: Unseen Forces (Ultra Rare) – $432.67

Alone At The Top

The Espeon from Unseen Forces tops the charts as the best Espeon card of all time, flaunting an impressive lead over its next closest competitor. Luckily, Unseen Forces doesn't have a first edition, so tracking down the best cards will be a bit easier.

NM copies of this Espeon max out around $499, while LP copies drop to about $370, followed by MP cards at $220 and damaged copies still selling for about $75. While the range is wide, this Espeon is likely to retain its crown for the foreseeable future.
