While there's no pretending that these are the most expensive promos we've ever seen in the Pokemon TCG, they're some affordable gems you'll want to collect sooner rather than later. Machamp is one of the original Pokemon to appear in the Base Set with a first edition card, and its Detective Pikachu card is poised to remain among the most sought-after in this relatively small promo set.

Mr. Mime: Detective Pikachu (Rare) – $1.45

Mr. Mime is one of the most unusual Pokemon ever, based on a humanoid mime that comes to life in a somewhat horrifying way during the Detective Pikachu movie. Opinions on this Pokemon's live-action form aside, Mr. Mime enjoys a massive percentage lead over Machamp, even if the sub-50-cent lead isn't inherently impressive.Mr. Mime probably isn't the top choice if you're looking for a card that has the potential to increase in value over time, but it's a polarizing card that might be a great addition to your Kantonian binder collection.

Arcanine: Detective Pikachu (Rare) – $1.97

The Detective Pikachu Arcanine Rare offers an unusually dark depiction of this Pokemon, which bears the distinction of being the first unofficial Legendary Pokemon ever. While we usually get bright scenes featuring this Fire-type Pokemon enjoying bright, sunny days, this version shifts the tone into a more serious shade.

Whether you're an Arcanine fan or not, it's impressive to see Arcanine jump well above Mr. Mime in terms of percentage increase. However, Arcanine is still chasing an unexpected pace setter.

Ditto: Detective Pikachu (Holo Rare) – $3.82

A Beloved Blob

Ditto doesn't jump to your mind when you think about valuable promo cards, but this Holo Rare is one of the best Detective Pikachu cards and boasts a solid value to go with it.

Ditto roughly doubles Arcanine's cost, creating the biggest divide we've seen thus far among the most valuable Detective Pikachu cards.

Ditto is one of the rare Pokemon that doesn't command particularly high levels of attention or stand out as exceptionally popular, but its value is proof that its depictions can hold a special place in our hearts.

Greninja: Detective Pikachu (Holo Rare) – $4.54

Sneaking Up The Chart

Greninja gets a boost above Ditto on the back of its beautiful in-motion artwork that depicts this Pokemon at the end of a quick jump, as it braces low to the ground. Greninja's cool factor is often imitated but rarely duplicated, and you can understand why when you see how uniquely fierce this Pokemon looks on this card.Despite a modest price tag compared to some of the most expensive Greninja cards in the Pokemon TCG, this card stands out as one of the most valuable options in the Detective Pikachu set.
