PostsWe're taking a look at the sets that give you the best chance to pull a Pikachu chase card, focusing on the number of cards available in the set, the quality of the artwork, and the set as a whole. While you can certainly find individual Pikachu cards that are worth more in other sets, these options offer excellent variety for Pikachu hunting.
6 Crown Zenith – Two Pikachu
Having Fun With Friends
Crown Zenith might not have the same variety of Pikachu cards as the other best Pikachu sets, but it features two cards with some of the brightest depictions of Pikachu we've seen. In addition, the Secret Rare (left) version includes several Galarian friends for Pikachu to enjoy galavanting with, including Calyrex, Urshifu, and Zacian.
Neither of these Pikachu cards carries the price tag that some of the Pikachu other chase cards do, but Crown Zenith continues to steadily rise in value, painting a bright picture of the future of these cards. Even if you don't get your hands on one of these Pikachu, this set features so many hits, that you're bound to have fun on your hunt.
5 Vivid Voltage – Four Pikachu
Chonky Pika Chasing
Vivid Voltage's most valuable cards are both Pikachu, so if you're looking to have some fun looking for unique Pikachu cards while also chasing the adrenaline of an expensive card, then Vivid Voltage might be the set for you. After all, Pikachu is also featured on the set's box art, so it's a set that's focused heavily on Pokemon's most famous monster.
If you don't manage to pull one of the top cards, don't fret as you'll have a greater chance to pull the regular Ultra Rare versions of Pikachu V or VMAX. These cards are both under ten dollars and have relatively high hit rates, so although they won't help you strike it rich, they will help you expand your Pikachu collection.
4 Surging Sparks – Four Pikachu
Something For Everyone
If you're more interested in collecting Pikachu cards that have a high value, and you'd be disappointed hitting a lower-end version of your favorite Pokemon, then take a look at Surging Spark's top cards. As one of the most valuable sets released in 2024, Surging Sparks is nothing short of a Pikachu aficionado's dream, thanks to the top three Pikachu in the set.

The new Moonbreon rises.
PostsWhile the regular Pikachu ex's art is still gorgeous, there's no denying that the Ultra Rare is a massive step up, featuring a white background and stunning Tera crown. At the top-end of the price scale, you have the gold-on-gold Hyper Rare and the chase card of the set: the Special Illustration Rare Pikachu ex.
3 Lost Origin – Five Pikachu
Red's Best Friend
Lost Origin's most valuable cards include two Pikachu worth chasing, though Giratina is the undisputed ruler of the set. Despite this anti-matter Pokemon commanding significant attention and a high price, Pikachu boasts the widest variety of cards for a single Pokemon in Lost Origin.
While you can easily go buy the Common Pikachu from this set for under a dollar, there are two more Pikachu to collect in the ten-dollar range: the Ultra Rare and VMAX Secret Rare, both from the set's Trainer Gallery. Closer to the $50 range, you have another set of Pikachu: the V and VMAX Ultra Rares, also from the Trainer Gallery.
2 Celebrations – Five Pikachu & One Promo
Pikachu Everywhere, All At Once
Eclipsing the handful of gorgeous Pikachu cards in Lost Origin is none other than Celebrations, a set packed with Pikachu.
If you want to be technical about it, every single card in this set has Pikachu on it, thanks to the anniversary stamp on each card, which features an icon in the shape of Pikachu's head.
The Celebrations set is becoming more expensive to buy and, unfortunately, these cards are far from Pikachu's most expensive. However, if you want to enjoy a variety of Pikachu illustrations that you're likely to pull multiple copies of, then Celebrations is the perfect set to collect.
1 Any Poncho-Wearing Promo Box – Every Card
The Crown Jewels
If you're only interested in collecting the best Pikachu cards on the market, look no further than the variety of poncho-wearing collection boxes only released in Japan. While the MSRP for these boxes used to sit below $50, they're now some of the hottest commodities in the Pokemon TCG, selling for thousands of dollars, depending on the box.
These are the holy grails of Pikachu chase cards, as every promo card in these boxes features Pikachu dressed in a variety of cute outfits a.k.a. "ponchos" of other Pokemon like Rayquaza, Mega Charizard, and Alolan Vulpix. However, the most valuable boxes feature crossovers, where Pikachu dons iconic Mario and Luigi-themed clothing and mustaches.
