Summary
- Crispin accelerates energy and hand, ideal for dual-energy decks.
- Janine's Secret Art powers Dark types with energy at the cost of Poison.
- Boss's Orders swaps Pokemon, perfect for disrupting opponent strategies.
There are many different types of Trainer cards in the Pokemon TCG. Each one helps the game flow with some cards such as Items and Pokemon Tools being usable throughout your entire turn. Supporters, on the other hand, can give you a major advantage at the cost of only being able to use one per turn. So you have to make wise choices before going all in on a Supporter.

PostsWhile you won’t have as many Supporters in a deck as the other card types, the ones you do have often give you the best advantages. Others are best used by specific deck builds. So what are the best Supporter cards worth sliding into your deck?
10 Crispin
Two Different Energies In One
CloseCrispin acts as both Energy acceleration and a way to keep your hand loaded. If your deck already has more than one Energy type, then Crispin can help you attach one to your Pokemon and add the other to your hand. Just make sure both Energies are different.
This is a great Supporter to use if some of your Pokemon require different types of Energy to unleash their most powerful Moves. Crispin first appeared in the Stellar Crown set, giving the Dragon-types easier access to their dual-type needs.
9 Janine's Secret Art
A Little Drop Of Poison
CloseThere is a flurry of Darkness-type decks that need more Energy. With Dark Patch out of the picture, Janine’s Secret Art is the type's best way to get Energy on the field. Of course, this comes at the small price of your Pokemon getting Poisoned.

PostsA little bit of Poison never killed anyone. At least not the Darkness-type Pokemon that want to use this. In fact, it might even make them stronger. Three Energies in one turn can speed up your game plan and get those Pokemon attacking right away.
8 Boss’s Orders
Get Over Here
CloseFor every villain team leader in the Pokemon universe, there is a version of them printed on Boss’s Orders. Giovanni, Cyrus, Ghetsis, they all get a bit of the spotlight. It is also one of the best generic Supporters that can be used in any deck.
Boss’s Orders lets you switch out your opponent’s Active Pokemon for one on their Bench. This simple effect can let you strike the Pokemon your opponent wants to protect the most. It can catch unsuspecting Basics before they can Evolve, and even score you multiple prize cards if you hit the right Pokemon.
7 Arven
The Right Tools For The Job
CloseFirst appearing in the Scarlet and Violet Base set, Arven has been an incredible Supporter for Tools and Items. With these two card types being very important for setups, Arven makes it easier to access them as soon as you can start playing Supporters.

We rank Iono's cards in Pokemon TCG, Journey Together.
PostsFor Evolution decks, this is your chance to get a Rare Candy in your hand. You can even fetch powerful Ace Spec cards, since they count as Pokemon Tools. Due to how generic Arven is, almost every deck will have a place for it in the lineup.
6 Iono
Turn The Tables On Your Opponent
CloseThere's nothing worse than having your opponent beat you down. They’ve collected most of their prize cards and their hand is full of options for their next turn. Iono says no to all of that and punishes them for each card they have taken.
This Supporter will let both players reset their hand. However, the more prize cards you’ve taken, the less you get to draw after you’ve shuffled your entire hand back into the deck. This can help unbrick your hand while limiting your opponent’s options.
5 Briar
An Extra Prize Card
CloseThere are certain situations where you can take an extra prize card. In most cases, this is because you managed to knock out one of the stronger Pokemon ex, GX, Vmax, or any other Pokemon with a special ruling. This is where Briar comes in, letting Tera decks speed up the game.

PostsThis can also be used to close out games if you get the math right. While your opponent needs exactly two prize cards before you can use Briar, there is no restriction for the player using it. So you could use it to catch up, or use it as a way to close out the game.
4 Professor’s Research
A Classic Supporter
CloseProfessor’s Research is a card so amazing, it has been around since the very start of the Pokemon TCG. It usually depicts the Pokemon professor of the generation on the card art. Its constant feature is letting you dump your hand and draw seven cards.
From an outsider’s point of view, this is an absolutely busted effect. Yu-Gi-Oh! Killed Pot of Greed for letting you draw two cards, yet Pokemon lets you dump and draw seven. However, for the kind of game Pokemon is, this effect may be good, but it’s not broken.
3 Professor Sada's Vitality
The Power Of Ancients
CloseAny deck that uses Ancient Pokemon can immediately get benefits from Professor Sada’s Vitality. This card first appeared in the Paradox Rift set and helps get your Energy and deck moving in an Ancient deck.

Pikachu is back with a strong cast of Special Illustration Rares.
PostsAs long as you set up your discard pile, you can recycle two Energy and immediately attach it to two of your Ancient Pokemon. To top it all off, you also get to draw three cards. This way, your Pokemon are not only ready to fight, but you get plenty of other options that you didn’t have before playing this card.
2 Professor Turo's Scenario
Your Future Tactics
CloseAnother card that also debuted in Paradox Rift is the opposite of Sada, Professor Turo’s Scenario. This card can bounce one of your own Pokemon back to your hand. Despite having a simple effect, it can be utilized in a variety of ways.
You could use it to bounce back one of your damaged Pokemon before it gets knocked out or as a means to bring in a Benched Pokemon without switching out. You can also use it as a way to reuse card effects that happen when a card is played by bouncing the Pokemon, then playing it again for the effect.
1 Carmine
Start Fresh
CloseThere are pros and cons to going first in Pokemon. However, one of the drawbacks of taking that first turn is that you can’t use Supporters right away. Carmine on the other hand, has specific text allowing you to bypass this rule. At least for this one card.
Carmine lets you dump your hand to draw five. This can be useful if you have a horrible opening hand. If you don’t mind discarding those cards and starting fresh, Carmine repacks your hand with five, possibly better, cards. Because it also dumps to the discard instead of shuffling back to the deck, you also leave the door open to get those cards back using other card effects.
