- Top valuable cards include Lugia, Charizard, and Blastoise
Team Plasma is one of the most fascinating teams within the Pokemon TCG. While many other teams will get card printings depicting their nefarious deeds, Team Plasma has an entire card archetype dedicated to it as well as multiple sets with the Plasma name on it.

Typhlosion boasts twin cards in two valuable vintage sets among its most valuable cards.
PostsMany of these unique cards can be found within the Plasma Storm expansion, and were meant to synergize with each other. This is also a set that included some of the earlier waves of Ace Specs. So this era was pretty experimental with the card game. Here are the eight most valuable cards in Pokemon TCG’s Plasma Storm set.
Cards values depicted reflect their market value on TCGplayer.com and may be subject to change with time.
8 Cobalion Ex Full Art - $17.21
Sleek And Elegant
Cobalion EX may be an underrated legendary Pokemon from the Black and White era, but its card rendition in Plasma Storm is actually pretty elegant. As full-art card, it already gets the highest luxury printing with the textured card design, but it also swaps out the usual yellow card border for a black one.
The background of this card is also black and white, blending together to form those perfect grayish hues. It makes you wish that the card itself was made out of a plate of steel just so you can better preserve it. Cobalion EX shows that even the most underrated Pokemon can have fantastic printings.
7 Victini Ex - $21.02
A Victorious Victini
Victini is a special Pokemon in the fifth generation lineup. Not quite a legendary, this mythical little buddy is said to grant victories to any trainer that manages to get cozy with it. Friendship does pay off. Victini EX comes surrounded by flames that spread all across the card art.
As a full art, this also means that it has that rough but quality texture with golden lines across the design. As a card in the game, Victini acts as an Energy acceleration card for Fire-types while also packing an extra punch towards other EX cards. If you want your collection to be a winner, don’t forget to include this little guy.
6 Random Receiver - $34.72
A Golden Tool
Golden Item cards are always going to be worth something, especially if they can be used in the current meta. Random Receiver has a rather peculiar design compared to some of the other golden Items in more modern sets. For starters, the design still follows the standard Trainer card format of the time with gold only appearing on the various parts of the card.

Posts 1Random Receiver allows you to get a Supporter in your hand. It does this by letting you dig through your deck until one is revealed, then you can add it to your hand while shuffling the deck. It’s not a bad card, essentially turning itself into additional copies of the Supporters you run in your deck.
5 Articuno Ex Team Plasma Full Art - $59.82
A Team Plasma Styled Articuno
Team Plasma cards are mostly known for their unique designs. These usually include the Plasma symbol as a watermark or in the art, and also feature blue borders as opposed to the more common yellow ones. When combined with Articuno EX, both the Pokemon’s design and the Team Plasma style mix to form one of the best Articuno cards of all time.
Everything about this card is just blue. From the Energy markings on the card to the electricity surging through the background. It also has some chilling Moves, such as Blizzard, which can hit your opponent’s Bench and Frost Prison, which can Paralyze your opponent’s Pokemon if there are any Plasma Energy attached to Articuno.
4 Lugia Ex Team Plasma Full Art - $103.71
Reading The Fine Print
Lugia EX is another card with plenty of blue on it. It has a really menacing design with Lugia looking like it is about to knock you out. Ironically enough, this card specializes in knock-out tactics. Plasma Gale does a whopping 120 damage which, for the time, could be devastating.
However, it also has the greatest Ability of all time. Overflow lets you take an extra Prize Card when Lugia knocks out a Pokemon. While this is often restricted to Evolution Pokemon or knocking out an EX Pokemon, the text lacks any such indication. Therefore any Pokemon knocked out by Lugia will allow you to take that Prize Card.
3 Colress Team Plasma Full Art - $107.19
A Tricky Maneuver
One cool and mysterious character that was introduced in Pokemon Black and White is Colress. This scientist is known for aligning himself with any organization for the sake of scientific breakthroughs. As a member of the organization, it is only fitting that Colress gets a Team Plasma printing.
RelatedPokemon TCG: The 6 Most Valuable Giratina Cards
Giratina captures our attention with some gorgeous modern designs.
PostsThis card allows you to shuffle your hand into your deck, then draw cards equal to the number of Pokemon in the Benches. This includes both yours and your opponent’s. This is a fantastic draw engine that could potentially net you ten cards. That’s a whole new world of possibility and a whole lotta trouble for your opponent.
2 Blastoise Secret Rare - $183.19
The Original Baxcalibur
Chien Pao EX decks are known for using Baxcalibur to be able to put down as much Water Energy as they want from the hand. However, this tactic is nothing new. The Plasma Storm set has a particular printing of Blastoise with a similar Ability.
Blastoise lets you do the same thing with its Deluge Ability. This is part of the reason this card is so valuable, since more memorable cards usually go up in price. However, you can’t dismiss the fact that this card is also one of the original final Evolutions for the Kanto starters. This makes it one of the more valuable Blastoise cards.
1 Charizard Secret Rare - $650.01
The Winner Is A Shiny Charizard
Shiny Charizard has one of the coolest designs. So, whenever it gets a printing, it is bound to end up in the lineup of rarest Charizard cards eventually. The Plasma Storm set contains one of the most valuable Charizard cards. Not only does it depict the shiny version of the Pokemon, but it also has the golden detailing found in many of this set’s rarest cards.
Split Bomb does 40 damage to two of your opponent’s Pokemon. This includes Bench as well. Scorching Fire does a whopping 150 damage while only losing one Energy in the process. So as far as Fire-type Moves that discard Energy for cost, this is one of the better ones.
