Suitcases In Pokemon's Quirky New Luggage Range Have Clear Pockets For Your Plushes
Pokemon plushes are big business and arguably the most realistic way to catch 'em all there is until scientists figure out how to create Pokemon for real (someone should really get on that). It only makes sense that there are countless Pokemon fans out there who not only want to take their plushes everywhere with them, but also show those soft toys to the world as they go, right?
Well, The Pokemon Company certainly seems to think so. That'll be why it's releasing a range of suitcases that have transparent compartments built into them, specifically for your Pokemon plushes, so that those plushes can see out of them. Actually, now that I think about it, it's more likely so that fellow Pokemon fans can see in and admire whatever plushes you choose to display.
Pokemon Reveals Luggage Equipped With See-Through Plush Display Cases
The Pokemom CompanyThe luggage line is part of a newly revealed range that has been dubbed Timeless Adventures by The Pokemon Company. The collection also includes keychains and cookie jars, but the headliner is the suitcases. Created to further celebrate the ongoing "Going Out" theme tied to Pokemon's 30th anniversary, the luggage will be available to buy from the Japanese Pokemon Center website starting July 4.
There are three suitcases to choose from, and not only have each one been created to represent a different type - grass, fire, and water - but they also represent each of the Unova region partner Pokemon - Snivy, Tepig, and Oshawott. Even though they're the Pokemon chosen to represent each suitcase, open them up and the lining of each one is dotted with starters of the suitcase's respective type from every Pokemon region.
The Pokemon CompanyThat alone would have been enough to make this new luggage line pretty sought after, but it's the plush prison on the front that makes them even more eye-catching. It is quite literally just a plastic compartment right there on the top, and Pokemon has shared images of said compartment housing plush versions of Pikachu, Snorlax, and Growlithe to demonstrate how the suitcases look when in use.
Pokemon Is No Stranger To Weird Merch
RenovaIt might seem like odd merch, but 30 years in, Pokemon needs to start getting creative when it comes to figuring out ways to make us part with our money. The plushie display cases follow in the footsteps of collectible Pokemon chocolate wrappers courtesy of Hershey's Kisses, and officially branded Pokemon toilet roll released earlier this year by Renova.

They are Japan-exclusive items, for now, but hey, if you don't want to wait for them to potentially get a worldwide release, or pay extra to have them shipped, there has never been a piece of Pokemon merch better equipped to be brought back with you should you be planning a trip to Japan any time soon.
