Some cards are able to hit harder while others can create some interesting tech to give your deck some extra options each turn.

Which ex Pokemon truly shine in this set? Let's find out.

Some can help you win games faster, while others, mostly just look cool, but need something more to see competitive play. Which cards will make the ultimate Arceus deck?

8 Magnezone

A Hard-Headed Pokemon

Magnezone is a tough Pokemon to beat when Resilience Link lets it tank through 30 damage each turn. However, it takes too long to set up and only does 80 damage for three Energy.

Even if Magnezone can tank an extra hit due to its Ability, it is still vulnerable during all of its previous stages. By the time it achieves this form, your opponent might be able to sweep it in one turn before it can deal a second attack.

7 Carnivine

Swift Jabs

Carnivine is a surprisingly easy-to-use Arceus Link Pokemon. As a Basic Pokemon, it doesn’t need to go through any Evolutions before it can start punching at full power. While Carnivine’s Vine Whip has a base damage of 20, having Arceus on the field can help it hit for 50 instead with Power Link.

Pokemon Pocket: 7 Changes We Want To See

Pokemon TCG Pocket is pretty great, but we have some thoughts on what could make it that much greater.

Needing only one Energy, this is an aggressive Pokemon if you get the right setup done early in the game. As the match progresses, though, this becomes a weaker option but can be used to give your other Grass-type strategies a bit more sting.

6 Heatran

Double Damage When Angry

Things get pretty hot when Heatran is on the field. This Arceus Link Pokemon can Retreat for Free with its Speed Link Ability. Heatran’s Ragin’ Mad Strike does up to 80 damage for two Energy which can rack up if you can avoid getting knocked out.

Being able to Retreat for free lets it switch out into a different Heatran if you see it taking too much damage. The key to using this Pokemon is being able to get a minimal amount of damage onto it to see its effect go live.

5 Abomasnow

Consistent Damage

Abomasnow may not be able to Retreat for free, but being able to hit for 80 damage for two Energy without needing to be hurt can make a difference. Also, being a Water-type has its benefits, since it can take advantage of Irida’s healing and every Energy acceleration option.

This makes it a relatively easy Pokemon to use, even if it does need to Evolve from Snover first before reaching this form. Having other versions of Snover to choose from also helps you customize your path towards Abomasnow.

4 Raichu

Two Hits In One

Raichu has Resilience Link, which gives it protection whenever Arceus is on the field. That’s 30 less damage being done to this Pokemon each turn. It also can’t be hit while on the Bench unless your opponent’s Pokemon can do more than its Ability protects it from.

Spark will do a maximum of 60 damage each turn. That’s 40 to the Active Spot and 20 to the Bench. This makes Cyrus right at home if you use this card. As far as Electric-types go in Triumphant Light, it is one of the better ones. However, it is still trumped by Mythical Island Raichu for just one extra Energy and no reliance on Arceus.

3 Rotom

Slip It Into Any Arceus Deck

The good thing about Rotom is that it is mostly a tech card. With Speed Link, this Pokemon can Retreat for free while Arceus is out and about. You also have a Colorless Energy requirement for Dash Attack, giving every Arceus deck, regardless of type, a way to hit the Bench and combo with Cyrus.

That free Retreat Cost comes in handy when you’ve finally got your other Pokemon ready and want to bring them in for some finishing Moves. This makes Rotom one of the more versatile Arceus Link Pokemon in Triumphant Light.

2 Tyranitar

Overwhelm Your Opponent

If you’re looking for a single point Pokemon to cheer for, then Tyranitar might just be it. On its own, Tyranitar can do 130 damage with Land Crush for four Energy. Add in the effects of its Power Link Ability and you can do 160 damage each turn.

Tyranitar also has 160 HP making it the beefiest of the Arceus Link Pokemon. Arceus being a Basic Pokemon and Tyranitar being a stage two balance out when deck building, leaving plenty of room for other consistency cards.

1 Crobat

Damage Pokemon Without Attacking

Crobat’s Darkness Fang may be weak with only 50 damage for one Energy, but Cunning Link is such an incredible Ability that it makes up for it. This Ability lets you do 30 damage each turn to your opponent’s Active Pokemon.

This damage can be applied from the Bench, which further buffs the game plan you are going for. While this does require Arceus on the field to use, you can slip in the non-ex Arceus into a Darkrai ex deck to add even more non-attack damage each turn.
