Starting on August 19 and going through August 26, Pokemon Sleep is hosting a week long event all about meeting and befriending as many Water-Type Pokemon as possible. All of this is leading to the upcoming Suicune Research event and aims to give sleep researchers the best chance of meeting the usual cast of Water Pokemon, but two new arrivals as well.

Whooper and Quagsire join the roster and will appear at most of the research sites in the game. Not only will they have a greater opportunity to appear, but so will the other Water-Type Pokemon in the game. This guide will give you all the information you need for a successful research week.

Water Week Event Information

While this week-long event is going on, there will be a series of boosts all centered around meeting and leveling up your Water-type Pokemon. However, some of the benefits can be used for the good of other Pokemon in your Box.

While open to every research site, some will host certain Water-Types and not others. There will be special missions for the event, and players will be able to take advantage of a mini-candy boost.

In addition to the missions and boost, there are also limited-time bundles in the general store, all aimed at helping you meet and befriend as many Water-Type mons as possible.

Research Site

First, you can choose any research site during this event. However, where you set up your tent for the week will determine which Pokemon you have a higher chance of encountering.

During this event, not only will you have a greater chance of meeting the Pokemon listed above, but you will also be able to see Pokemon with different sleep styles.

Wooper and Quagsire are Slumbering Types. But, during this event, if you have a night of Dozing or Snoozing sleep, the new pair can still show up, as they are not limited by having a different sleep style than your own.

In addition to having a higher chance of appearing for certain Pokemon, this event will also guarantee that one Pokemon per sleep session arrives hungry. It does not, however, ensure the hungry Pokemon is Water-type.

Missions

There will be two sets of missions this week. One is your standard, weekly missions. The others revolve around Water Week and have a separate tab, as there has been in the past.

Mini-Candy Boost

This isn't a new feature to Pokemon Sleep, but it is always welcomed when it makes its return. The Mini-Candy Boost allows you to decide when leveling up a Pokemon manually if you would like to increase the power of the boost by paying extra dream shards.

While the event tells you that you should use this on your Water-type helper Pokemon, you can use this on any Pokemon in your Box. However, keep in mind that since this event is getting players ready to research and befriend Suicune, having your Water-Type Pokemon at higher levels is going to be the most beneficial.

If you already feel confident in the strength of your Water Pokemon, you can instead absolutely use the boost to level up your weaker Pokemon, your shiny Pokemon, or reach the level cap of an already high-leveled Pokemon.

Limited-Time Bundles

There are three bundles for you to choose from in the general store. They follow a similar scheme to events in the past where they are all aimed at the same thing but come in an S, M, and L size, of course costing more diamonds and giving the player more powerful items with each size increase.

Bundle

Contents

Water Type Week Bundle Vol. 1 S

  • Pokemon Biscuit (5)
  • Totodile Incense (1)

Water Type Week Bundle Vol. 1 M

  • Pokemon Biscuit (10)
  • Eevee Incense (1)
  • Water Stone (1)

Water Type Week Bundle Vol. 1 L

  • Great Biscuit (8)
  • Wooper Incense (1)
  • Squirtle Incense (1)
  • Quaxly Incense (1)
  • Water-Type Candy S (10)
  • Dream Cluster S (6)

If you are looking to purchase, the S bundle is 250 diamonds, the M bundle is 600 diamonds, and the L bundle is 1,500 diamonds. You can buy three of the S bundles, but only one each of the other bundles.

Good Sleep Day

This event also overlaps a Good Sleep Day event. As always, this gives your Snorlax a boost to their Drowsy Power, increases the amount of EXP your helper Pokemon receives, and grants you additional Sleep Points.

The events happening simultaneously allow you to take advantage of both bonuses at the same time. So, if you are looking to use incense to complete one of your missions, you'll want to use a Growth, Focus, or Luck incense during the three Good Sleep Days to get the most out of this opportunity.
