Pokemon: Every Pokemon That Evolves With A Dusk Stone

There are more ways to evolve Pokemon than ever before, with even Pokemon Scarlet and Violet adding unique and unusual ways for your Pokemon to transform into their evolved forms. There's no beating the classics, though, with a community favourite being the tried and true evolution stone.

Pokemon types are arguably one of the most interesting aspects of the games. Today, we'll check out the most useful type combinations there are.
PostsThese sometimes-elusive items put you in full control of when your Pokemon evolves, although each type of stone only has a select set of Pokemon it can be applied to. If you've been wondering which Pokemon can make use of the Dusk Stone, look no further. Read below to see every single Pokemon that can evolve through the use of a Dusk Stone.
In Japan, the Dusk Stone is known as the Darkness Stone, an appropriate name since the Pokemon who can use it all have either the Ghost or Dark type.
4 Murkrow
The Darkness Pokemon
Name
Murkrow
No.
#0198
Type
Dark/Flying
Abilities
Insomnia
Super Luck
Prankster
Evolution
Honchkrow
Although Murkrow is a Generation 2 Pokemon, it wasn't until the introduction of the Dusk Stone in Generation 4 that it became able to evolve into the substantially chunkier Honchkrow. This made it a far more viable Pokemon to use, bumping its base stats from 405 up to a tidy 505.
Murkrow has the special distinction of being the only Pokemon that isn't a Ghost type to evolve with a Dusk Stone, even though you might expect Murkrow's Dark type to be the one the stone favours.
Murkrow is the lightest Dark-type Pokemon, weighing in at just 4.6 lbs or 2.1 kg. Honchkrow, on the other hand, weighs 60.2 lbs, or 27.3 kg, multiplying its weight by more than a factor of ten when it evolves. Maybe Henchkrow would have been a more appropriate name.
3 Misdreavus
The Screech Pokemon
Name
Misdreavus
No.
#0200
Type
Ghost
Abilities
Levitate
Evolution
Mismagius
Misdreavus shares the distinction with Murkrow of being a Generation 2 Pokemon that later got an evolution in Generation 4, when the Dusk Stone was introduced. With that, Misdreavus can evolve into Mismagius, gaining a decent boost to Special Attack, Special Defense, and Speed.
Mismagius is a great choice if you're looking to add a strong Ghost type to your team, with access to a wide pool of moves thanks to TMs. It also comes with Levitate, giving it a total of three complete type immunities.
Oddly, in the National Pokedex, Murkrow is listed before Misdreavus. Their evolutions flip this, with Mismagius being listed before Honchkrow.
2 Lampent
The Lamp Pokemon
Name
Lampent
No.
#0608
Type
Ghost/Fire
Abilities
Flash Fire
Flame Body
Infiltrator
Evolution
Chandelure
Lampent was the first Pokemon introduced with the ability to evolve using a Dusk Stone from the beginning since it was introduced a generation after the evolutionary stone was. After getting a Litwick to level 41 and evolving it into Lampent, you can then use a Dusk Stone to evolve it into Chandelure whenever you like.

If you're not bothered by creepy crawlies, you'll love spider Pokemon.
PostsChandelure has truly outstanding Special Attack, making it a powerhouse when using a Fire or Ghost-type move and getting STAB. HP is a little on the low side, though, so be careful how you make use of this ghastly chandelier.
Chandelure was voted the most popular Generation 5 Pokemon, and it isn't hard to see why. It has a spectacular design, and everyone has a soft spot for Pokemon with multiple evolution stages.
1 Doublade
The Sword Pokemon
Name
Doublade
No.
#0680
Type
Steel/Ghost
Abilities
No Guard
Evolution
Aegislash
Doublade was the last Pokemon to be given the ability to evolve via a Dusk Stone, all the way back in Generation 6. Although that's a long time to go without a new Dusk Stone evolving Pokemon, Doublade is good enough that it almost doesn't matter.
Doublade evolves into Aegislash, an amazingly versatile Pokemon that can change forms during battle, depending on the moves it uses. This opens up all kinds of battle strategies, depending on how you prefer to take on your opponents. Whether you opt for offense or defense or switch regularly between the two, Aegislash has you covered.
Shield Forme Aegislash has the highest base Special Defense stat of any Ghost-type Pokemon, so if your preference is for tanking hits and whittling your foe down, then there really is no better Ghost type to pick up.
