Pokemon Go makes sure to recognize and celebrate various holidays that take place across the globe, typically with different in-game events. This is the case for this month's Valentine's Day, hosting an exciting event themed around this love-filled holiday.

Pokemon Go's Valentine's Day Event will be taking place over the course of about a week, available from Wednesday, February 8, at 10 am local time to Tuesday, February 14, at 8 pm local time. They have packed a lot of features and bonuses in this year's event, so we've put together a guide containing everything you need to know about it.
Event Bonuses
There will be two bonuses that will be available to all players throughout the entirety of this in-game event.
First, you will receive twice the Stardust from opening gifts, a valuable resource used to level up and evolve your Pokemon. The second bonus pertains to Lure Modules, increasing their duration to two hours when activated during the event window.
Additionally, during this event you will be able to change Furfrou's form to its Heart Trim Form, a form that is typically unavailable. For Furfrou to undergo this form change, it will require 25 Furfrou Candy and 10,000 Stardust.
Event Research
Lovely Wishes Timed Research
There will be a special event Timed Research available during the Valentine's Day Event, available to all players that participate. Like other's introduced recently, players will have the opportunity to choose from three different bonuses that will last for the duration of the event.
You can either choose to earn increased XP from catching Pokemon, earn increased Candy from catching Pokemon, or an increase in the duration of the Daily Adventure Incense to 30 minutes. The choice that you make for this bonus will also alter the tasks that you need to complete for this Timed Research, aligning with whichever bonus you opt for.
Regardless of which bonus you select, you can expect to be rewarded with Frillish encounters, including encounters with both its male and female forms. Additionally, this event will mark the first time that this Pokemon can appear in its Shiny form.
Global Valentine's Day Challenge
There will be a global challenge available to complete from Tuesday, February 7, at 12pm PST to Tuesday, February 14, at 10pm PST. To complete this challenge, players around the world must work together to send as many Gifts as possible during this window, providing all players with in-game bonuses if the set goal is reached.
If the Pokemon Go community can collectively send 100,000,000 Gifts during this time frame, all players will enjoy two additional bonuses throughout the rest of the Valentine's Day Event window. These bonuses include both 3x Candy and 2x Candy XL for transferring Pokemon.
Field Research Encounters
Throughout this event, you will have the chance to receive Event Field Research Tasks from visiting and spinning Photo Discs at either PokeStops or Pokemon Gyms. Completing these Field Research Tasks will reward you with encounters with event-themed Pokemon, each provided below.

Event Raids
There will be a change in the Pokemon found in Raids during the Valentine's Day Event, including changes to all tiers of Raids in the game. This includes the debut of Mega Gardevoir in Mega Raids and the debut of Tapu Lele's Shiny form, found in Five-Star Raids.

Mega Raids
Gallade or Gardevoir following their defeat in Raids will know the Charged Attack Synchronoise, an attack with 80 Power in both PvP and PvE battles.
This attack can also be obtained by evolving Kirlia into either Gallade or Gardevoir during this event.
Event Wild Encounters
You can expect to find event-themed Pokemon in the wild throughout the duration of the Valentine's Day Event. Make sure to log in and adventure while this event is active for a chance to encounter and catch the following Pokemon.

Event Eggs
During this event, there will be a change in the Pokemon that are hatched from 7 km Eggs, each following the Valentine's Day theme of this event. Make sure to obtain and adventure with these Eggs during the event window for a chance to obtain the following Pokemon.
The easiest way to obtain 7 km Eggs is by opening Gifts sent to you by other Trainers that you are friends with.

You will have an increased chance of hatching Frillish's Shiny variation compared to your chances of encountering it in the wild.
Event Avatar Items And Stickers
There will be two new avatar items that will be released for this event: the Frillish Top and Frillish Glasses. These two items will be available to purchase at the in-game shop both during the event, and after it has concluded.
Additionally, there will be event-themed Stickers available during the Valentine's Day Event. These new Stickers can be obtained either by spinning Photo Discs at PokeStops, opening Gifts sent to you by other Trainers, or through purchase at the in-game shop.
Luvdisc Limited Research Day
During the Valentine's Day Event, there will be a Limited Research Day featuring Luvdisc. This short event will take place on Saturday, February 11, from 2pm to 5pm local time.
During this brief window, you can obtain special Field Research Tasks from spinning PokeStop Photo Discs, providing you with an encounter with Luvdisc upon their completion. Luvdisc encountered from this will have an increased chance of being Shiny.
Additionally, there will be a change in the Pokemon found in the wild during this three-hour window. Make sure to take advantage of this Limited Research Day to encounter and catch the following Pokemon.
