There have been countless Legendary Pokemon added to Pokemon Go's massive collection of available Pokemon, spanning across multiple prior Pokemon Generations. These Pokemon aren't typically easy to come by, only being obtainable through specific Special Research Quests and Five-Star Raids, very challenging cooperative PvE battles.

One Legendary Pokemon that can be acquired through the successful completion of its Five-Star Raid is Registeel, the Steel-type Legendary Titan introduced in the third Pokemon Generation. Defeating Registeel in its Raid and adding it to your collection won't be an easy task, so we've put together everything you need to know to properly prepare yourself for this specific battle.
Recommended Group Size
Registeel is a tough opponent on the battlefield, possessing powerful attacks and tons of health. For these reasons, it will require the use of several Pokemon and the help of other Trainers if you wish to successfully complete this Five-Star Raid.
To ensure that you emerge victorious, we recommend that you attempt this Raid with a group of at least four to six Trainers. Even with this larger group size, it is important that you and your allies are still using powerful Pokemon that exploit Registeel's specific weaknesses.
Make sure to Mega Evolve one of the Pokemon on your Raid team, if possible, increasing the overall effectiveness of you and your allies in this battle.
Doing so will increase the CP of the Mega Evolved Pokemon, in addition to increasing the damage dealt by you and your allies' attacks that are the same type of the Mega Evolved Pokemon.
Registeel: Strengths And Weaknesses
To add to the difficulty of this Raid, Registeel has far more resistances compared to its weaknesses, severely limiting you when it comes to which Pokemon to use against it in this battle. Being a pure Steel-type Pokemon, Registeel is resistant to 11 different types of attacks: Normal, Flying, Rock, Bug, Steel, Grass, Psychic, Ice, Dragon, Fairy, and Poison. Make sure to avoid using Pokemon of these types when you are assembling your Raid team for this battle.
Registeel has an extreme resistance to Poison-type attacks, only dealing 39 percent of that damage that it typically does.
This is even less effective than the other ten attack types that Registeel is resistant to, so avoid using Poison-type Pokemon at all costs.
On the other hand, Registeel is only weak against three different types of attacks: Fighting, Fire, and Ground. To give you the best chance of success in this Raid battle, it is essential that you are taking advantage of these vulnerabilities by using powerful Pokemon of these three types.
With Registeel's extreme bulkiness, you'll want to maximize the damage you deal on the battlefield through all methods available to you.
This includes taking advantage of Same Type Attack Bonus, or STAB, a mechanic that increases the power of your attacks if they match the type of the Pokemon using them.
