Mega Lucario is making its Pokemon Go debut this week, being released with its own Raid Day, a one-day event centered around Raiding a specific Pokemon. In addition to this, there will be different bonuses and features available for all players, further enhancing their Raiding experience.

PostsThe Mega Lucario Raid Day will take place on Saturday, July 27, 2024, from 11am local time to 5pm local time. Below you can find all the information about this Raid Day, including all event details and strategies to make the most of it.
Featured Pokemon: Mega Lucario
Lucario's Mega Evolution, Mega Lucario, will be available for the first time starting with this Raid Day. With Mega Lucario being the featured Pokemon for this Raid Day, they will be appearing in the majority of Raid locations during the event window.
Additionally, any Lucario encountered following the successful completion of a Mega Lucario Raid will have increased odds of being Shiny. With the number of Mega Lucario Raids taking place throughout this event, you will have great odds of obtaining a Shiny Lucario, as long as you participate.
Each time you successfully complete a Mega Lucario Raid, you will be rewarded with Lucario Mega Energy.
This is the only way to obtain this, a resource needed to Mega Evolve your own Lucario.
Lucario caught as a Raid completion reward will also possess a Featured Attack, Force Palm. This Fighting-type Fast Attack's in-game stats can be found below.

Raid Day Bonuses
There will be four different bonuses active during the Mega Lucario Raid Day, all having to do with Raid battles. These four bonuses include:
- Receive 1.5 times the XP from Raid battles.
- Higher odds of obtaining Rare Candy XL when completing Raids in-person.
- Receive five extra free Raid Passes when spinning Photo Discs at different Pokemon Gyms.
- Use up to 20 Remote Raid Passes (from Friday, July 26, at 5pm PDT to Saturday, July 27, at 8pm PDT).

There will be a Raid Day Ticket available for purchase for this event, unlocking additional bonuses for ticket-holders. The Mega Lucario Raid Day Ticket will cost $5.00 USD at the Pokemon Go in-game shop, providing you with the following bonuses:
- Triple the XP from Raid battles.
- Double the Stardust from Raid battles.
- Increased odds of obtaining Rare Candy XL from completing Raids.
- One Rare Candy XL each time Lucario is caught.
- Obtain up to 13 additional free Raid Passes from Pokemon Gyms.
Mega Lucario Raid Strategies
To benefit from all of this Raid Day's features and bonuses, you will want to make sure that you can consistently complete Mega Lucario Raids. To do this, you will need to make sure that you're putting together a team of Pokemon that specifically counter Mega Lucario.
Because of its Steel and Fighting dual-typing, you will want to use Pokemon with either Fire, Fighting, or Ground-type attacks. Attacks of these three types will be super effective against Mega Lucario, dealing increased damage in battle.
Use Pokemon with attacks that match their type if possible.
This will activate Same Type Attack Bonus, known as STAB, increasing the damage of each attack.
In addition to these weaknesses, Mega Lucario's typing also gives it a several resistances on the battlefield. This includes resistance to Poison, Bug, Rock, Dark, Normal, Steel, Grass, Ice, and Dragon-type attacks.
Even when using Pokemon with these attacks, it's important that you go into each Raid battle with enough players. In the case of Mega Lucario's Raid, this means attempting it with a group of at least three to five Trainers.
