Pokemon Go is hosting their annual Go Fest event, including in-person events and a global event for those who can't attend the live portion. When it comes to the global, remote aspect of this celebration, players around the world have the opportunity to experience first-time bonuses and features throughout its duration.

Go Fest 2023: Global will take place over the course of two consecutive days, both Saturday, August 26 and Sunday, August 27, from 10am local time to 6pm local time on each of these days. Packed with several features and bonuses, we have put together a complete guide to help you enjoy this extensive, two-day event.

Event Wild Encounter Pokemon

For the first day of this event, there will be rotating habitats active for an hour each. Depending on the specific habitat that is active, you can expect to encounter different Pokemon in the wild during that time.

The set of Pokemon associated with each of these four habitats can be found below, as well as the times that they will be active on Saturday, August 26.

On Sunday, the second day of this event, all Pokemon from the four rotating habitats will be available to encounter in the wild. This will be the case for all eight hours of the event on this day, regardless of the time.

This will be the first time that you'll be able to encounter the Shiny variants of West Sea Shellos, East Sea Shellos, Goomy, Oranguru, and Joltik.

Event Bonuses

Throughout the hours of this two-day event, all players who log in and participate will benefit from five different in-game bonuses. Below we have provided you details on these five event bonuses.

  • Double the bonus friendship damage in Raids.
  • Habitat-themed Field Research tasks.
  • Unlimited use of Remote Raid Passes from Saturday, August 26 at 12am local time through Sunday, August 27 at 11:59pm local time.
  • One-hour Lure Modules.
  • Surprise Pokemon encounters from taking snapshots.

Ticket-Holder Features And Bonuses

Although Go Fest 2023: Global is a free event available to all players, you will have the option of purchasing an event ticket in exchange for additional features and bonuses. This ticket can be purchased at the Pokemon Go in-game shop for $14.99 USD, and will provide purchasers with the following bonuses.

Bonuses

There will be five different bonuses that ticket-holders will benefit from during the hours of this event. Each of these exclusive bonuses can be found below.

  • Higher odds of Shiny Pokemon encounters.
  • Special 7km Eggs.
  • Different habitat-based Collection Challenges.
  • Nine free Raid Passes from spinning Pokemon Gym Photo Discs.
  • Maximum number of daily Special Trades increased to six.

Special Research

There will be an Event Special Research available to all ticket-holders during this event. For the first day of this event, Saturday, August 26, completing the tasks for this Special Research will reward you with an encounter with Diancie, making its debut with this year's Go Fest.

You can Mega Evolve Diancie into Mega Diancie following the completion of this Special Research.

You can obtain the Diancie Mega Energy required to perform this Mega Evolution through the completion of Carbink's Two-Star Raid.

For the following day of Go Fest 2023: Global, ticket-holders will have access to another Special Research, this time centered around Mega Rayquazaand the new Meteorite item. Required to perform Rayquaza's Mega Evolution, make sure to take advantage of this chance to obtain an additional Meteorite.

Additionally, both the Diancie T-shirt and the Treasure Map Pose avatar items can be obtained through the rewards of this exclusive Special Research.

Incense Encounters

Ticket-holders who use Incense during the hours of Go Fest 2023: Global will encounter specific Pokemon, depending on which habitat is active. In addition to one unique Pokemon for each habitat, ticket-holders can expect encounters with Unown A, D, I, M, N, and O once an Incense has been activated.

This is the global debut of Shiny Unown M.

For each hour that a habitat is active during the first day of Go Fest 2023: Global, ticket-holders will be posed with a cooperative challenge. If this global challenge is completed prior to the habitat hour's conclusion, a special bonus will be activated for the remainder of that specific hour.

Event Raid Pokemon

There will be several event-themed Pokemon found in Raids during the two days of Go Fest 2023: Global, including Pokemon in One-Star, Two-Star, Three-Star, Primal, and Mega Raids.

Many of these Pokemon are exclusive to this event, so make sure to participate in these Raids for a chance to encounter catch these rare Pokemon.

On Sunday, Primal Groudon's and Primal Kyogre's Primal Raids will only be available from 10am local time to 11am local time.

Additionally, Mega Rayquaza's Mega Raid will only be available on Sunday, the second day of this event.

Event Special Research Story

There will be an event Special Research Story available to all player who log into Pokemon Go from 10am local time to 6pm local time on Sunday, August 27, completely free of charge.

Completing the tasks for this Special Research Story will reward players with a Meteorite, a new in-game item that is required to teach Rayquaza the Charged Attack Dragon Ascent. This is extremely valuable because this new Charged Attack is required when attempting to Mega Evolve this Pokemon to Mega Rayquaza.

In addition to teaching your Rayquaza Dragon Ascent with a Meteorite, you will need to spend 400 Rayquaza Mega Energy to unlock Mega Rayquaza.

Rayquaza Mega Energy can be acquired through the successful completion of Mega Rayquaza's Mega Raid.

Event Featured Attacks

Similar to Community Day events, evolving certain Pokemon during the hours of this event will provide them with a Featured Attack, an attack that cannot typically be learned through the use of Fast or Charged TMs.
