Successfully doing so will reward you and your allies with an encounter with Deoxys, giving you the chance to catch this Legendary Pokemon and add it to your collection. Recommended Group Size
As mentioned previously, there are four different variations of Deoxys: Normal Forme, Attack Forme, Defense Forme, and Speed Forme. Although these different Deoxys variants possess the same strengths and weaknesses, their in-game stats are vastly different.
Because of this, there are different recommended groups sizes for attempting this encounter depending on which Deoxys form you are battling against. Below you can find each of Deoxys's forms with the number of players it's best to go into this Raid with.
Deoxys Forme
Recommended Number Group Size
Attack Forme
Two to four players
Normal Forme
Three to five players
Speed Forme
Four to six players
Defense Forme
Five to seven players
To assist in making this battle easier on you and your allies, make sure to choose a Pokemon you're battling with to Mega Evolve prior to this encounter.
If done, all ally Pokemon's attacks will receive a damage bonus if they are the same type as the Mega Evolved Pokemon.
Deoxys: Strengths And Weaknesses
Although Deoxys has four different forms, its in-game strengths and weaknesses remain consistent regardless of which one you are battling against.
Being a pure Psychic-type Pokemon, Deoxys is only resistant against two types of attacks: Fighting and Psychic. Attacks of these types will do significantly less damage than those of other types, so it's best to avoid using Pokemon that possess them.
Working in you and your allies' favor, Deoxys has more weaknesses than strengths on the battlefield. Deoxys is weak to three different attack types: Ghost, Dark, and Bug. Attacks used against Deoxys that are either of these three types will be super effective, dealing significantly more damage than attacks of other types.
Regardless of the type of the opposing Pokemon, you can always increase your odds of beating it through the use of Same Type Attack Bonus.
Any Pokemon that you battle with can benefit from this mechanic, increasing the damage that you deal against an opponent if you are using attacks that are the same type as the Pokemon using them.

Deoxys: Best Counter Picks
Although Deoxys's Raid is a Five-Star Raid, defeating this Legendary Pokemon should provide you with little-to-no difficulty as long as you're choosing the right Pokemon to battle with. For this specific encounter, this means building a team of Pokemon that takes advantage of Deoxys's three weaknesses: Ghost, Dark, and Bug-type attacks.
To help you with assembling your Raid team for this encounter, below you can find some of the best Ghost, Dark, and Bug-type options for this specific Raid.
It may be difficult to put together a team strictly using the Pokemon listed below, and that's okay.
Defeating Deoxys should still be a relatively easy task if you are using other Pokemon, just make sure that they are still strong Ghost, Dark, and Bug types.
