Pokemon Go is hosting a brand-new in-game event this month, following a throwback theme and titled the Adamant Time Event. This event will take you back in time, centered around Pokemon's Kanto region, featuring several generation one Pokemon that originated in this region.

PostsAlthough some features will extend this event, the Adamant Time Event will be active from Monday, December 11, at 10am local time to Friday, December 15, at 8pm local time, only being available for about five days. There will be several in-game changes and event bonuses that come with this event, all outlined below in our complete Adamant Time Event guide.
Event Bonuses
There will only be two main bonuses for this event, one only available during the days of this event, and one extending past its conclusion.
For the first bonus, you will receive triple the XP for catching different Pokemon during this event. With catches using Nice, Great, and Excellent throws awarding the most XP, do your best to attempt to catch Pokemon with accurate throws.
Further the XP that you gain from this bonus through the use of the Lucky Egg item, doubling all XP you earn for 30 minutes.
The second bonus pertains to Lucky Trades, not only being available during this event, but rather being a permanent change. Starting with this event, the maximum number of guaranteed Lucky Trades will be increased from 15 to 25. Additionally, up until this new maximum is reached, any traded Pokemon that has been in Pokemon storage since at least 2018 will become a Lucky Pokemon.
Event Wild Encounter Pokemon
During this event, there will be several Pokemon with increased spawn rates in the wild, all of which originated in the Kanto region. Each of these 12 event-themed wild encounter Pokemon are provided for you below.

Additionally, Ditto will be an event wild encounter Pokemon, disguised as different Pokemon when seen and caught in the wild. During this event, Ditto can be disguised as Oddish, Koffing, Rhyhorn, or Goldeen. Ditto is an extremely rare Pokemon in this game, so make sure to take advantage of this opportunity to catch several of them.

Posts 1Event Research
Timed Research
There will be two sets of Timed Research released with the Adamant Time Event, both free for all players.
First, there will be an event Timed Research available, requiring you to add friends during the event window. Completing the tasks for this Timed Research will reward you with Ultra Balls, Stardust, and XP. You will only have until the end of this event to complete tasks and claim rewards for this Timed Research.
Second, you will gain access to seasonal Timed Research, remaining available until the end of 2023. This Timed Research will be centered around acquiring XP and reaching specific Trainer Levels, including levels 10, 20, 30, and 40. Completing this Timed Research will reward you with Stardust and other in-game items.
If you have already reached the required Trainer Level for a task within this Timed Research, you will be able to claim the reward for it instantly.
Special Research
There will also be a brand-new Special Research debuting with the start of this event. This Special Research will be available to complete throughout the entirety of the current Pokemon Go season, Timeless Travels, and will focus on Pokemon's Hisui region.
Field Research Task Encounters
There will be limited-time event Field Research Tasks that can be claimed from different PokeStops throughout the five days of the Adamant Time Event. Some of these tasks will reward you with event-themed Pokemon encounters as a reward, all from Pokemon's original Kanto region.

There will also be a handful of event-themed Pokemon found in Raids throughout the duration of this event. This includes six different first generation Pokemon, being found in either One-Star or Three-Star Raids depending on how difficult it is to defeat them.

Event Pokemon Showcases
You will be able to enter different Pokemon Showcases throughout this five-day event, located at specific PokeStops found within the game. For these Pokemon Showcases, you will be able to participate with either Krabby, Vulpix, Ponyta, Voltorb, or Ditto.
Make sure to enter the largest sized Pokemon in your collection for these Showcases are accepting, awarding you the most points. This will maximize your chances of placing highly in these competition, earning you more rewards with greater value.
