The latest Pokemon Go season brings several changes and additions to the Go Battle League - here's all you need to know!
PostsThe Charged-Up Research Day will be a one-day event, taking place on Sunday, March 3, 2024, only lasting for three hours, from 2pm local time to 5pm local time. We have put together a complete guide for this event, including all the details regarding the event, so you know exactly what to expect and how to properly prepare.
Featured Pokemon
Like with past Research Days, there will be a selection of featured Pokemon for the Charged-Up Research Day. The Electric-type featured Pokemon for this event include:
- Electrike
- Chinchou
- Blitzle
- Joltik
- Helioptile
For a chance to encounter and catch these Pokemon, you will have to complete exclusive event Timed Research Tasks, only available to obtain during the three hours of this Research Day. To acquire these Field Research Tasks, you will have to visit and spin different PokeStop Photo Discs during the event.
The most notable bonus for the featured Pokemon in this event will be their significantly increased chances of being Shiny. Shiny Pokemon are very rare in Pokemon Go, so make sure to complete as many of these Field Research Tasks as possible to take advantage of this bonus.
Wild Encounter Pokemon
During this Research Day, there will also be a change in the Pokemon frequently appearing in the wild. Following the theme of this event, there will be six different Electric-type Pokemon with increased spawn rates in the wild, each provided below.
- Pikachu
- Voltorb
- Plusle
- Minun
- Emolga
- Pawmi
Although you will have the chance of encountering some of these Pokemon's Shiny variations, their Shiny rates will not be boosted like the featured Pokemon mentioned above.
Paid Timed Research
You will have the opportunity to unlock event-exclusive Timed Research for the Charged-Up Research Day, purchasable through the Pokemon Go in-game shop. Access to this Timed Research will cost $1.00 USD, and will be available for purchase in the days leading up to and during this event.
The tasks for this Timed Research will require you to complete multiple Field Research Tasks. Completing tasks will reward you with additional encounters with the five featured Pokemon for this event, allowing you to choose which of these Pokemon you want to encounter and catch.
As a reminder, the featured Pokemon for this event include:
- Chinchou
- Electrike
- Blitzle
- Helioptile
- Joltik
Adding value to this Paid Timed Research, the Pokemon that you encounter through the Paid Timed Research will have the same increased Shiny odds as those encountered through the event Field Research Tasks.
As with any Timed Research, you will only be able to complete tasks and claim rewards from it for a limited time.
In the case of this Paid Timed Research, this means that you will have to do so before the conclusion of this Research Day, ending on March 3, 2024, at 5pm local time.
