One of the most fun and challenging additions to Pikmin 4 are the Dandori Battles. Similar to Pikmin 2's 2-Player-Battle mode, Dandori Battles have you face off against an opponent to see who can get the most points from collecting treasures and beasts. There are six battles to compete in, one per area, each with varying difficulty levels.

Battles also vary in the mechanics they implement and which Pikmin type you're allowed to use. Oatchi is the only member of your squad you can bring with you. Here we've outlined the location of every Dandori Battle and the specific conditions applied to each match.

Dandori Battle Ranking Conditions

To defeat your opponent, your score must be higher than theirs once time is up. Doing this will reward you with a bronze medal. To receive higher-ranked medals, you'll need to score a certain number of points higher than your opponent. The ranking is as follows:

Awarded Medal

Condition

Bronze

Score at least one point higher than your opponent

Silver

Score at least 30 points higher than your opponent

Gold

Score at least 60 points higher than your opponent

Platinum

Score at least 100 points higher than your opponent

Sun-Speckled Terrace

Found in the southern part of the map, you need to construct a bridge nearby to reach the battle's entrance. The Trial Run battle has a Dandori Level of one, being the easiest battle to participate in. Here you use Red Pikmin and have four minutes to win.

Blossoming Arcadia

Located in the center east area, the entrance sits at the top of a hill. The Battle in a Box battle has a Dandori Level of two and introduces Bonus Finds. Bonus Finds are randomly selected beasts or treasures that will temporarily have their worth doubled or tripled. Here you use Ice Pikmin and have five minutes to win.

Serene Shores

Near the southwest corner, the battle entrance can be reached by climbing the hill leading into the pond or by constructing a bridge close by. The Dandori Castle battle has a Dandori Level of three, introducing Golden Sniffers and Mystery Capsules. Golden Sniffers are giant golden pears worth 30 points.

Mystery Capsules give you a random item you can use for an advantage. These items can hinder the enemy's progress or assist you by providing Additional Pikmin or Glow Seeds. Here you use Yellow Pikmin and have five minutes to win.

Hero's Hideaway

Inside the Safe Bunker on the east side of the map, you will need the safe's code to reach this battle. To obtain the safe's code, you'll need to collect the Power Emblem, Wisdom Emblem, and Courage Emblem treasures. All of these playing card treasures are found throughout Hero's Hideaway.

The Leafy Showdown battle has a Dandori level of four and introduces Sneak Bombs. Sneak Bombs can be fed to the enemy's onion, causing them to lose points equal to the Dandorium that pops out. Dandorium is a special treasure worth a lot of points, but it can be recollected by your opponent if you aren't prepared.

Here you use Rock Pikmin and have seven minutes to win.

Giant's Hearth

All the way to the east, the battle entrance sits across a pond. The Hot Sandy Duel battle has a max Dandori level and doesn't introduce any new gimmicks. Here you use Red Pikmin and have five minutes to win. Your opponent here is very aggressive and will constantly attack you with items from Mystery Capsules if you fail to grab them first.

Primordial Thicket

Found in the northeast area, you can jump up to the battle entrance with Oatchi. The Final Battle has a max Dandori Level, provides you with Red Pikmin, and gives you five minutes to win. You'll need to use everything you've learned about Dandori Battles to claim victory.
