The Persona series has always had a dedicated fanbase, but over the last few years, it has stepped further and further into the limelight, becoming the RPG powerhouse that it is today.

While Persona 3, Persona 4, and Persona 5 have all received love over the past eight years, the first two games in the franchise have been left behind.

That may not be the case for much longer, however, as series general producer Kazuhisha Wada has hinted that they may get some love further down the line.

Kazuhisha Wada Would Like To Remake Persona 1 And 2

Speaking to Gamespot about the upcoming Metaphor: ReFantazio, the Persona veteran was asked if he'd consider remaking the first two games in the series.

He told Gamespot that he'd "like to do it someday," but "it's not on my schedule right now."

The news is a bit of a mixed bag. On one hand, it's fantastic that the producer is up for giving players the chance to play the PlayStaton 1 titles again, but the fact that it's not on his schedule right now means they're likely many, many years away.

Prior to Metaphor: ReFantazio, Wada worked on Persona 5 Royal and Persona 3 Reload. He'll have then likely jumped straight into Metaphor. Given that it's been eight years since Persona 5 was released, you have to imagine that Persona 6 will be next on the docket for Wada, especially given all the rumors flying around, including multiple reports that the game will have a green color scheme.

We got to preview Metaphor: ReFantazio at Gamescom this year, and things are shaping up very nicely; as we said, "Metaphor seems to be offering up a tantalizingly interesting narrative against a high fantasy setting, unlike anything it’s done before. I’m already hooked, and I want more."
