Persona 6 could launch on Xbox from day one, according to industry insider Nate the Hate. This comes after Xbox fans had to wait six years to get Persona 5, with the series long favouring PlayStation over other platforms.

Now, that could be set to change. As reported by VGC, Nate the Hate says that he's heard that Persona 6 is currently in development for Xbox as well as PlayStation. He admits that he hasn't heard whether or not it will come to Xbox from day one, but speculates that there is a good chance of that being the case, given what we've seen from the series in recent years.

"From information I have heard, it does seem as though Persona 6 will be coming to the Xbox," says Nate. "Fans have something to look forward to."

He continues: "I'm not 100 percent sure if it's a day-and-date with the PlayStation version. But considering the way that Persona games have been day-and-date with the multiplatform releases at this point, I'd say it may be a safe assumption to make that Persona 6 will be day-and-date [with] Xbox and PlayStation."

Last year, another insider said they had only seen details about Persona 6 launching on PS5, and Nate himself had previously shared that it could be a timed Sony exclusive. Nothing has been confirmed yet since these comments are only rumours, but it's possible that Xbox was since able to secure a Persona 6 release of its own.

The last major Persona release, Persona 3 Reload, was a great get for Xbox, as it secured a day one Game Pass launch. It was still multiplatform, also launching on PlayStation and PC, but it meant that anyone with a Game Pass subscription could play at no extra cost. With this in mind, it certainly seems that Xbox is eager to appeal to Persona fans, and part of that would involve getting the next mainline entry at the same time as PlayStation.

As for Persona 6 itself, we've heard a few rumours about this long-awaited sequel already. The latest is that it will be set in a high school yet again, which will come as a blow to fans who were hoping for an older cast this time around. If these rumours are to be believed though, the game won't be with us until 2026.
