Everything you’ve done in the dozens of hours you’ve logged in Persona 4 Golden have led to the final showdown with the mastermind behind the goings-on in Inaba. But by now, you’re well aware that you won’t be simply walking up to the boss – there’s a whole dungeon you’ve got to trek through first.

Magatsu Inaba and Magatsu Mandala are two sections of the same dungeon, but they operate very differently, and different enemies await in each. For all the info you’ll need to get through Magatsu Inaba and Magatsu Mandala in P4G, read on ahead with our guide below.
Although we're focused on bringing you info on shadows and other assorted tips in this guide, it may still contain spoilers for the ending of Persona 4 Golden.
Before Going Into Magatsu Inaba And Magatsu Mandala
Choose Your Infiltration Date Wisely
Unlike the other dungeons so far in Persona 4 Golden, Magatsu Inaba is a bit different in that, once you complete it, the game fast-forwards to 12/24.
While the earlier dungeons saw the person whose shadow you defeated resting for the remainder of the time left until the deadline, Magatsu Inaba does not do this. As soon as you beat the boss, the game will move you to the next story progression point on 12/26.
The widely accepted “best day” to finish Magatsu Inaba and Magatsu Mandala by battling its boss in P4G is 12/22.
Nothing is stopping you from finishing the dungeon earlier than 12/22, but with the fast-forward that takes place after, you’ll miss out on things like social links, stat-building opportunities, and a special Christmas event.
Recommended Level
The shadows inside Magatsu Inaba and Magatsu Mandala range from Lv. 66-78, and your impending boss fight for the dungeon is against two shadows, Lv. 73 and Lv. 75.
Because of these things, we recommend being roughly Lv. 65 before tackling the dungeon and working your way to Lv. 70 before battling the mastermind.

Magatsu Inaba And Magatsu Mandala Walkthrough
While plenty of the dungeons you’ve finished so far in Persona 4 Golden have been randomized, Magatsu Inaba and Magatsu Mandala are a little different.
The floors here can be a bit tricky to navigate. The first floor is straightforward, though, to ease you in.
The second floor is where things begin to get strange. There are doors in the northwest corner of the map, but trying to open them reveals them to be locked.
To continue, you’ll need to go back to the middle of this floor and check out the pit. Interact with it to jump into the pit, which brings you to Magatsu Mandala.
Though it seems counterintuitive to what you’ve known so far about fighting your way through dungeons, when you get down into Magatsu Mandala, don’t let the shadows touch you.
Being touched by a shadow will send you back to the beginning of the first level of Magatsu Mandala no matter how far you’ve gotten. This includes attacking shadows yourself or being attacked in a way that gives the enemy the advantage – you need to avoid shadows touching you at all costs.
Outside of that, the first three floors of Magatsu Mandala are straightforward enough – get through them without touching the enemies, and at the end of World Three of Magatsu Mandala, you’ll come face to face with the Chaos Fuzz mini-boss.
After this, Magatsu Mandala remains largely the same. There’s another mini-boss battle against Envious Giant on the sixth floor of Magatsu Mandala, but after finishing it, you’re ready to go back to Magatsu Inaba.
The easiest way to do this will be by using a Goho-M.
When you reenter Magatsu Inaba, you’ll now find that the doors in the northwest corners are now unlocked.
Head inside to begin the boss battle against the mastermind of P4G when you’re ready!
