Attacks and Skills
Masukukaja
Increases the accuracy and evasion of Cultist of the Storm for 3 turns
Magarudyne
This skill does heavy Wind damage to all members of your team
The floor guardian Cultist of the Storm has only a single weakness: Dark attacks.
The Cultist of the Storm is resistant to Fire damage while also nullifying any Strike physical attacks.
The Cultist of the Storm’s skill set is lacking in depth, as the boss only has two moves that it will use. The boss has only one attacking move, Magarudyne, that can hit the entire team at once.
Other than Magarudyne, this boss only has the buffing skill Masukukaja that it will use to try and evade your attacks for the entire fight.
Cultist Of The Storm Battle Guide
The 179th floor is the den of the floor guardian, Cultist of the Storm. Cultist of the Storm hits extremely hard, but with only a single move at its disposal, it is going to fall rather quickly. The recommended level for this boss encounter is level 58.
The Cultist of the Storm is weak to Dark, and the only innate user of Dark skills on the team is Koromaru, making him the obvious first choice for this fight. Next, taking a look at the healer options, Yukari is well suited here as she nullifies wind damage, and the boss is also normally affected by Yukari’s skills.
For the final team member, Mitsuru fits the mold here, having no weakness to wind while also shelling out powerful Ice skills that can potentially freeze the Cultist of the Storm.
As for the Protagonist, you can go either one of two routes with your chosen Persona: you can select a powerful Dark skill user, or you can go with a Persona that repels or nullifies wind.
The team here is a bit fluid, as you can also bring Akihiko, Ken, or Aigis in place of Mitsuru in this fight. If any of those three are higher level than Mitsuru, it is fine to bring them instead.
The only team member that absolutely cannot join the team this time around is Junpei since he is weak to wind - not to mention the boss resists fire - and this boss will down him in an instant.
Some of the best items to stock up on for this fight include Eiga Gems to inflict Dark damage and down the boss and Lagging Sutra or Dekaja Gems to negate the accuracy and evasion buffs of Masukukaja.
Koromaru Sets Up An All Out Attack
Koromaru’s Persona, Cerberus, is the only reliable Dark user you have access to, and he is no slouch. Koromaru’s Eigaon does incredible damage to Cultist of the Storm and will always knock the boss down if it hits. This means that Koromaru can set up a single guaranteed All-Out attack for your team each round.
On Koromaru’s turn in combat, use Eigaon on the boss.
Yukari Is Immune To Wind Damage
Usually Yukari’s affinity chart puts her in a disadvantageous position, often sending her to the sidelines until the next battle. This fight is where Yukari gets to shine, as the boss is unable to deal any damage to her. She could even solo the boss by herself, but it would take a very long time.
On Yukari’s turns, do one of two actions: use Garudyne on the Cultist of the Storm, or if anyone on your team requires healing, pivot to Mediarama for a turn.
The Fourth Member Is Your Choice
The fourth member of the party can be anyone that isn’t Junpei, but for our team, Mitsuru was the highest level at this point in our save, so we brought her. Just bring whichever teammate of yours has the highest stats for this boss.
Mitsuru and Akihiko would be the best choices here since both have attacks that the boss does not resist while having a small chance to inflict a status effect. Mitsuru can Freeze the boss with her Bufudyne, and Akihiko can attempt Shocks with his Ziodyne.
Aigis would be an okay choice here, as she can fish for critical strikes with her multi-hitting physical attacks. If you bring Ken along, you get quick access to Dekaja for the boss's Masukukaja.
- If you bring Mitsuru, use Bufudyne each turn.
- If you decide on Akihiko, use Ziodyne relentlessly.
- Bringing Aigis along means using Myriad Arrows each turn she can.
- If you want to bring Ken, use his Dekaja if the boss has an active buff; otherwise, use Ziodyne for a chance at inflicting Shock.
The Best Protagonist Persona Choices
The Protagonist can fulfill two different roles in this fight depending on your chosen team and their corresponding power levels. If the rest of your team is a lot weaker than the Protagonist, then it would be best to choose a defensive Persona. Otherwise, if your party members are strong enough to take a hit or two, you are free to bring along a strong offensive Persona.

For defensive Personas, you will want to recruit one that either nullifies, drains, or repels wind damage and can handle the Masukukaja buff from the boss.
