Attacks and Skills

Matarukaja

Increases the attack of both bosses for 3 turns

Concentrate

The bosses will charge up for one turn, making their next attack deal more than double the damage it normally would. They always follow this skill with Eigaon.

Mazionga

This skill does medium Electric damage to your whole party

Maeiga

This is a Dark skill that does medium damage to all team members

Eigaon

This is Demented Knight’s ultimate move. It does massive Dark damage to a single target.

The floor guardian Demented Knight comes as a boss duo this time around, but both of the enemies in this boss fight finally have the same affinities. The two Demented Knights have an interesting skill set that is centered around chipping away at your entire party’s health using two different area-of-effect skills, Mazionga and Maeiga.

Both of the Demented Knights are weak to Wind, while both nullify Pierce and Fire damage.

They both know Matarukaja and will open with it to boost their attack, only using it again if the buff falls off; once the two have delivered a few attacks, they will use Concentrate followed by Eigaon. This combination of skills is sure to kill its target if you do not debuff the boss.

Demented Knight Battle Guide

The floor guardians of floor 161 of Tartarus come as a pair of Demented Knights ready to hold your team hostage, not allowing you to progress without first defeating them. The recommended level for this boss is near level 52.

The Demented Knights are both weak to Wind, which makes Yukari an attractive option for this fight, but sadly she is weak to Electric damage - something the Demented Knights will use almost every other turn.

With that said, if you choose to take her, make sure to equip some kind of Electric resistance gear; this guide will be leaving Yukari out of this fight.

The bosses nullify Piercing and Fire damage, so Junpei is out of the running. Ken and Aigis will also have to stay behind as both bosses use a mixture of Electric and Dark attacks.

This leaves our team with Koromaru, Akihiko, and Mitsuru, and the Protagonist will need to fill the shoes of the Wind skill user here. As these two enemies have the chance to inflict shock on your team, bring along a stock of Baisudi Gems, Maibaisudi Gems, Amrita Gems, or Amrita Sodas.

Mitsuru Will Try To Freeze The Duo

Mitsuru has neutral affinity interactions with the two Demented Knights, both offensively and defensively. This means Mitsuru’s only priority is to do as much damage as possible while trying to inflict Freeze since her Persona has Freeze Boost.

Have Mitsuru cast Mabufula every time it is her turn. If only one of the Demented Knights is alive, cast Bufudyne instead.

Koromaru Nullifies Dark Damage

You should bring Koromaru along because he ignores damage from two of the three attacking skills that the Demented Knights use; this includes their ultimate ability Eigaon.

Koromaru’s first turn should be spent using Revolution for Akihiko's attacks. His proceeding turns are best spent using Virus Breath as it does slightly more damage than Maeiga.

Akihiko WIll Use Strikes And Debuffs

Both of the bosses will try to have Matarukaja up as much as possible, so it is imperative to use Dekaja or Matarunda. Luckily for the team, Akihiko has Matarunda.

Akihiko will also nullify all Electric damage; unfortunately, both of these enemies are immune to being shocked, so he gains nothing from his Persona's Shock Boost. Instead, you should capitalize on Koromaru's Revolution by using Gigantic Fist to attempt critical strikes.

On Akihiko’s turn, you will want to use Matarunda as a priority if either of the two following conditions has been met

  1. Either of the Demented Knights has an active Matarukaja Buff.
  2. The Demented Knights have cast Concentrate the turn prior and have not been debuffed yet.

Otherwise, have Akihiko use Gigantic Fist on his turns. If any team member needs healing, use his Diarama on them instead.

Best Persona For The Protagonist

The Protagonist will have to fill in for Yukari here. Choose a strong Wind skill Persona to guarantee an opportunity for your team to All-Out attack each round.

Here is a list of some of the best options at this level for the Protagonist's Persona:

  • Cu Chulainn, Tower Arcana
    • This persona innately knows both Dekaja and Matarukaja.
    • It has an innate resistance to Electric damage.
    • At level 44 it also learns Magarula.
    • It is found at level 40 in the Tziah Block Part Two, floors 145 - 171.
  • Orobas, Magician Arcana
    • Orobas innately knows Magarula.
    • It resists Dark damage innately.
    • This persona also learns Wind Boost at level 40 and Masukukaja at level 42.
    • It is found at level 39 in Tziah Block Part Two, floors 145 - 171.
  • Titania, Lovers Arcana
    • Titania has a base Magic stat of 45.
    • She learns Magarula at level 50 and Concentrate at level 53.
    • She is found at level 49 in the Tziah Block Part Two, floors 145 - 171.

How To Fuse A Persona Immune To Demented Knight

If you want to guarantee victory against this boss, you can create a Persona via fusing that is unable to take damage from both Electric and Dark attacks. Doing this is very expensive, so only proceed if you have extra money.

To fuse the Persona, follow these steps:

  1. Obtain the Sun Arcana Persona, Thunderbird, from Tziah Block Part One - floors 119 - 143. Raise it to level 41 so that it learns the passive skill Null Elec.
  2. Obtain a Titania from Tziah Block Part Two, floors 145 - 171. Raise it to level 50, ensuring it learns the active skill Magarula.
  3. Fuse the Thunderbird and the Titania. Make sure the resulting Persona selects to inherit the passive skill Null Elec and active skill Magarula.

This fusion will result in the Devil Arcana Persona, Succubus. It will nullify Electric damage, absorb Dark damage, and have access to Magarula.

If you proceed with this fusion, you do not have any need for the rest of your team as you can just use Magarula every turn for a free All-Out attack and you will never get hit by the boss.
