Persona 3 Reload And Metaphor: ReFantazio Will Come To Switch 2, Says Insider

Over the past couple years, Persona developer Atlus has steadily begun to release more of its games across all platforms. Person 5 Tactica is one such example, having been released on every console out there last year, with the upcoming titles Persona 3 Reload and Metaphor: ReFantazio also coming to PC, Xbox, and PlayStation systems. There is one notable exception with those last two titles though, as it's unconfirmed whether we'll see them on Switch.
While that's been difficult for Nintendo fans to come to terms with, it seems like there may be a very good reason for Atlus to skip the Nintendo Switch altogether. According to reliable Atlus insider Midori (thanks VGC), both Persona 3 Reload and Metaphor: ReFantazio are currently being developed for the Nintendo Switch successor, which certainly makes sense given how much of a graphical leap they'll be compared to the developer's previous titles.

PostsMidori tweeted this in response to an interview in which the developers of Persona 3 Reload stated a Switch version of the game was decided against from the beginning, but that Atlus has noted the demand. Given how Sega and Atlus have been shifting towards multi-platform releases for a while now, it does seem likely a Nintendo Switch 2 port could happen, and Midori is quite a reliable Atlus insider, having previously leaked accurate details on both Persona 3 Reload and Persona 5 Tactica.
As for when we'll actually see a Switch 2 announcement from Nintendo, it's pretty much expected that it will happen at some point this year. While we still know absolutely nothing about the system itself, analysts have predicted that it will more than likely be "an iteration" rather than anything groundbreaking, and will cost roughly $400. Nothing too surprising, and we'll need to wait until Nintendo finally decides to actually unveil the hardware before these details can be confirmed.
For now, Nintendo fans will either have to wait or get Persona 3 Reload and Metaphor: ReFantazio on different hardware for now. Both games are actually not too far away from release either, coming in what is going to be a rough couple of months for RPG and JRPG fans. Persona 3 Reload will be the first out of the gates, launching on February 2 next week, while Metaphor: ReFantazio will launch at some point this Fall. Good luck with the backlog, gamers!
