Persona 3 Reload Teammates Ranked By How Much I Actually Want To Be Their Friend

Summary
- SEES provides a variety of personalities to choose from, adding depth and choice to Persona 3 Reload's gameplay.
- Each team member, like Mitsuru and Akihiko, brings unique strengths and challenges, adding to the storyline's complexity and depth.
- The addition of linked episodes in the 2024 remake offers more opportunities to connect and interact with your SEES teammates outside of battles.
Any veteran Persona player knows that the team you have by your side on a given adventure is critical, and it’s SEES – the Special Extracurricular Execution Squad – who fills this role in Persona 3 Reload. Beginning small and recruiting new members throughout, you’ll end up with a whopping nine teammates to choose from by the end.

PostsAnd though the 2024 remake of Persona 3 does seek to offer more scenes with your SEES teammates in the form of linked episodes and dorm hang-outs, not all teammates are created equal. With so many different personalities, though, you’ve got plenty of choice.
9 Ken Amada
And I Swear Shinjiro's Place On This Last Has Nothing To Do With It...
Though it’s been confirmed now that FeMC won’t be joining your squad in Persona 3 Reload, unfortunately, she still left a mark on plenty of players. The mark she left on Ken, though, was a little odd, promising to “wait for him” once he’s older and treating him like a romance option as valid as the others.
She’s missing from Persona 3 Reload and thankfully, so is that creepy romance option, but even though Ken is a vastly improved character over previous versions of the game (with his new VA doing incredible work to give him life), he’s still just a kid. I feel bad for him, of course, but when even his linked episodes are about combat, it gets to feel a bit one-note.
8 Junpei Iori
Less Of A Perv In Reload, Still Pretty Pervy
Although plenty of changes were made to the SEES team in Persona 3 Reload, Junpei seems to have gotten the biggest makeover for the 2024 release. Sure, Junpei is still pretty freaking creepy in the way he approaches girls in P3R, but considering that that’s an improvement over the weirdo he used to be, we’ll take it.
Once he meets Chidori, Junpei definitely mellows out a bit, but you spend the first half of the game listening to him talk incessantly about girls. We know he’s a teenage boy and it’s pretty on the nose for the age, and we do appreciate the dampening of the outright creep factor, but there’s more to friendship than looking at women together.
7 Mitsuru Kirijo
She's A Boss Babe, A Blessing And A Curse
Click here for our Empress social link guide for Mitsuru Kirijo.
When you first move into Iwatodai Dormitory and join SEES, her role of navigational expert leaves Mitsuru in something of a command role. It takes a few months before she joins the team proper, and she’s excellent at handing over the leadership role to you, but as a character, Mitsuru seems like she may be a little tough to deal with.

They're all cuties in this game, though, so we won't judge you if you can't pick a favorite.
PostsThe scene that comes to mind specifically is when she calls Officer Kurosawa in a frantic panic about someone breaking into Junpei’s room, which is revealed to just be naturally messy. Sometimes, Mitsuru being the de facto group mom feels heartwarming, but with so much going on during the Dark Hour, leave us alone about studying or cleaning, mom.
6 Yukari Takeba
The Fan Pick For Canon Best Girl
Click here for our Lovers social link guide for Yukari Takeba.
Although you’re able to date whoever you’d like in Persona games (sometimes even all the ladies you’d like), Persona 3 never really established a “canon” girlfriend for its main character the way Personas 4 and 5 did with Rise and Makoto. However, if it was going to be anybody, even if the hints aren’t as strong in P3, Yukari seems to be who you’re meant to end up with.
Her storyline is tender, and helping her deal with everything in smoothing out the relationship with her mother and learning to trust other people again is definitely heartwarming. But the majority of your scenes with Yukari during her social link just see you two going shopping together. We like the new Paulownia Mall as much as the next player, but Yukari, please, enough shopping.
5 Akihiko Sanada
I'd Join The Fanclub
In the name of transparency, Akihiko was my pick for FeMC’s boyfriend in Persona 3 Portable, so maybe I’m a little biased when I say that I understand why those scores of girls are fawning over the local boxing icon when they see him in Iwatodai. Though some of the scenes of him interacting with his fans have changed, the heart of the matter remains the same – Akihiko is a stud in Port Island.
Once he heals up and joins the team, Akihiko remains a pillar of strength throughout, both emotional and physical. He comes from an emotional background, too, but he never lets it hold him back. Instead, Akihiko’s sadness has turned into his strength, a determination to get stronger so he can try to stop the people he loves from getting hurt, and I love a soft-hearted meathead.
4 Fuuka Yamagishi
My Taste Buds Are Scared But Ready
Click here for our Empress social link guide for Fuuka Yamagishi.
You first meet Fuuka Yamagishi yourself when you’re saving her from Tartarus, where a squad of bullies has unintentionally left her to die. Unaware that Gekkoukan becomes Tartarus at midnight, Fuuka’s bullies lock her inside the school, but it’s through her excellent navigations skills that she manages to survive until the SEES team comes to save her.

We can't gush enough about these Persona 3 Reload Social Links.
PostsOnce you get Fuuka out of Tartarus and back to Iwatodai, she blossoms as a character! Stronger emotionally than many on the team, Fuuka finds it in her to forgive and befriend the bully who accidentally tried to kill her, her involvement in the Art Club is fun, and I’m willing to bite my tongue and be brave when she hands me a questionable bento if it means I get to be pals with this absolute cutie.
3 Aigis
Helping My Robot Friend Get Good At Personhood
Click here for our Aeon social link guide for Aigis.
Sure, watching Aigis run all the way across the island in Yakushima was kind of hilarious, but once she actually comes back to Iwatodai and joins the SEES team, you begin an endearing adventure of helping Aigis figure out how to be a person. She’s a robot whose goal is sentience, which would be a little scary to think about, if the robot in question wasn’t so freaking charming.
Watching Aigis try to interact with an understand the world makes for some of the best side content in Persona 3 Reload. If you missed the linked episode reading with her where you teach her why threatening to crack someone’s ass even though “humans are born with cracked asses” is maybe one of the best in the game.
2 Shinjiro Aragaki
Love Isn't Everything, But It Definitely Helps
They say the hardest ones to love are usually the ones that need that love the most, and Shinjiro Aragaki is maybe the best example of that in the entire Persona series. You meet him a couple times early in the game, and his mean mysteriousness follows him throughout until he joins SEES again, largely against his will, in September.
The linked episodes added to Persona 3 Reload make for some pretty tender moments with Shinji, all involving watching him be domestic. He teaches you how to cook, he helps you garden, and he’s always around for a snarky comment in the dorms at night – right up until he’s not.
1 Koromaru
Of Course It's The Dog
Look, if anyone tells you they didn’t hang out with Koromaru on his linked episodes, taking him on walks and helping him come to terms with losing his owner and completing his mission to defend Naganaki Shrine, they’re either a liar or a maniac.
Who cares if Koromaru’s voice this time around is very clearly just a guy making dog sounds? We have a dog on our team, he’s tough as hell, he’s wearing cute little wings, and even if opinion lists like this are technically subjective, any list that doesn’t put Koromaru in the number one spot is wrong.
