Pax Dei is an open-world Survival MMO where you might not need food or water to stay alive, but you will need a consistent supply of resources to be able to do anything in the game. As you grind through the earlier tiers, you'll slowly start requiring rare minerals that will take you a long time to farm.
RelatedPax Dei: Where To Find Clay
If you want to find Clay in Pax Dei, you'll have to go around the map and look for some specific items on the ground.
PostsThere are roughly three tiers to the game's progression, and you'll need some sort of Iron for each one. It starts with Impure Iron, then normal Iron, and finally Pure Iron. There are specific places you can visit to get all of these.
Pax Dei is currently in Early Access, and everything mentioned in this article is subject to change.
How To Get Impure Iron (Iron Ingot)
This is not only the least rare Iron but also one of the least rare resources in general when it comes to Pax Dei. In some cases, you might find this more than even Gneiss nodes. Impure Iron deposits are scattered absolutely everywhere in the various provinces, and you can normally gather a bunch of them while exploring.
However, if you're specifically looking to farm this Ore, the best place would be one of the Lands of Stone biomes. These biomes usually contain various types of nodes, but you'll find Impure Iron commonly as long as you stay inside the red boundary on the map.
How To Get Iron (Wrought Iron Ingot)
Contrary to Impure Iron, which is most commonly found inside the red boundaries, you'll have to venture outside of it for the second tier of Iron as it's nearly impossible to locate within the red boundary. The boundary is essentially the zones where new players can spawn, and the game doesn't give you rare resources within these.
To stack up on Iron, you'd be looking to find a Lands of Stone biome outside the red boundaries. However, you might not find a lot of it in every biome. The best practice here is to explore every Lands of Stone biome outside the red boundary near you and remember the location of the one with the highest concentration of Iron deposits.
Every deposit currently respawns at the exact same location a few minutes after it's destroyed.
How To Get Pure Iron (Steel Ingot)
After a ton of grinding by yourself or with a team in Pax Dei, you'll finally reach the third tier of gear, which will require you to craft a lot of Steel Ingot. To get that, you'll need to get some Pure Iron Ore, and the best place to get it is the Province of Lyonesse, which also happens to be the area where PvP is enabled.
If you're in one of the other Provinces, you'll have to pass through specific gates at the edges of the map to reach Lyonesse. Not only will you have to make these long journeys whenever you want to get the Ore, but also possibly deal with other players while you're gathering it, which makes the process quite difficult.
You also have a chance of getting Pure Iron Ore when you're defeating humanoid enemies around the world, so you can also try that if you don't want to engage in PvP.
