Luckily, your efforts won't go unrewarded, as the Wisp-touched enemies drop significantly better loot. Below, we'll take a look at everything you need to know about Azmerian Wisps, including where to find them and how to complete their challenges.

What Are Azmerian Wisps?

Azmerian Wisps appear as small balls of light that will begin to flee when you approach. As the Wisp moves, it will attract nearby monsters, which will then Influence the monsters with a specific Touched effect, granting them buffs.

The Wisp will attempt to influence Rare and Unique monsters as well, which it will Possess if it comes into contact with them. Possessed Rare and Unique monsters will periodically summon spirit animals of the same type to aid them in combat.

If you let the Wisp move too far away from you, it will disappear. The Wisp will also disappear if you die at any point while chasing it or fighting the Possessed monsters.

The Possessed monster will drop better loot than usual, and it will drop even more loot according to the number of Touched enemies you defeated leading up to the Possessed monster. This monster will also occasionally drop a Talisman of the same animal type, which can be used like Runes to add stats to your Armour.

Sacred Wisps

Sacred Wisps are a special type of Azmerian Wisp that inflict unique effects on the monsters around them. For example, the Sacred Wisp of the Cunning Fox upgrades Normal monsters into Magic monsters, Magic into Rare, and Rare into Unique Bosses. While their challenge is a lot more difficult, the loot is upgraded accordingly.

How To Find Azmerian Wisps

Azmerian Wisps can appear in most maps throughout the campaign randomly. You can tell if one is nearby because Delwyn will also appear and help you track down the Wisp.

However, there are also a few ways to increase the chances of Azmerian Wisps appearing, which you can find below.

  • The Guiding Light node on the Atlas Skill Tree provides a 100 percent chance for Azmerian Wisps to appear in your maps.
  • The endgame map Azmeri Ranges always contains several Azmerian Wisps.
  • Precursor Tablets can roll modifiers containing increased chances to find Azmerian Wisps in your maps.
