The Rayne Syndicate Oil Rig is a beast of a stronghold, but it's possible to get there and raid the base for all it's worth. It will take careful preparation and several tries, but you can definitely make it worth your while with patience. Here's everything you need to know to reach the Oil Rig and loot it.

How To Reach The Oil Rig

The Oil Rig is a massive stronghold located in the middle of the ocean. You'll need to fast travel to the Marsh Island Great Eagle Statue and head southeast.

If you look carefully, you can see the Oil Rig from the shoreline!

Getting there is tricky. You'll want to avoid making an attempt until you've reached at least level 50. You'll also want to have bred Pals specifically designed to be speedy mounts. Pals like Jetragon, the Legendary Celestial Dragon, and Frostallion, Legendary Steed of Ice, are excellent choices.

However, you'll want to take your chances with a swimming mount like the Jormuntide Alpha Boss or Azurobe, the Lady of the Lake. Swimming mounts are less likely to be discovered by the towers that shoot lasers at you from the rig.

You'll want to make sure they have passive skills like Infinite Stamina or Runner to ensure they move quickly.

Once you have your mount and your best gear equipped, make your way to Marsh Island and head out. Stick to one side of the rig and race to it. If you're spotted and targeted by a laser, sprint away from it while ascending or descending.

If all else fails, dismount and land in the water. Prioritize your health and saving your Pals. The anti-air cannons can trigger even if you swap to a swimming mount, so be prepared to adjust your strategy on the fly.

There are several ramps along the bottom of the rig that allow for easy access, but you'll have to reach them. You can also try to climb the legs of the rig if you have enough stamina.

Whatever you do, do not try to fly up to the rig until you're right up on it.

Turrets and lasers are no joke, and they can quickly defeat even the strongest of Pals.

How To Destroy The Towers And Turrets

There are many challenges on the Rayne Syndicate Oil Rig, including level 55 human enemies and powerful Pals that are relentless in their pursuit of invaders. You'll have several priorities when you first reach the rig: destroy the artillery and stay out of sight.

While you'll likely get caught at some point, you can cling to the edges to remain hidden. There are multiple anti-air laser cannons and dozens of turrets posted around the stronghold. The only way to disable them is to interact with the consoles attached to the machine, so you'll need to get up close.

Save your ammo! The cannons and turrets cannot be damaged by any weapons.

If you can sneak around, you can disable many of them without being spotted. If you're caught, throw your Pal to provide cover while you work.

Once destroyed, the cannons and turrets will remain disabled for some time, so do what you can to make it easier for your next attempt or for any of your guild members to follow after you.

Where To Find The Large Oil Rig Chest

The main appeal of the Rayne Syndicate Oil Rig Stronghold in Palworld is the large chest that spawns. While there are plenty of smaller chests that appear inside storage crates, crevices, and tents, there is only one large supply crate per raid.

This crate will respawn after a given amount of time once you loot it.

This chest holds a bounty of resources, including Ancient Civilization Cores, Crude Oil, Schematics, and large Lotus materials for elixirs. There are four places you can find the chest, so keep an eye out:

  • To the west of the rig, there are two tents. Both tents can contain chests, but only one will hold the large prize you're searching for.
  • Inside the blue building on the central platform you can find the large supply crate. This area is heavily guarded, so you'll want to come prepared.
  • Inside shipping containers along the southeast, a large chest can appear. There are half a dozen turrets in this area, so get ready to dodge often.
  • The lower floors on the east side of the rig can hide the supply crate, but there will be a heavily armored guard keeping watch.

Once you have your treasure, flee the oil rig. You can always come back later, but make sure to make it out alive with your prize so it's not lost. You can also catch any of the Pals deployed at the oil rig to add them to your collection, though make sure it won't come at the cost of your life.
