Here are some of the basics about the Luna New Year event:
- The Maji Market: Luna New Year event runs from January 30, 2024 to February 27, 2024.
- The Maji Market is located at the Kilima Fairgrounds, which is in the southeast corner of Kilima Valley.
- The Maji Market is only open during the in-game hours of 6pm to 3am. However, the Fairgrounds are accessible during the event to explore and fish at the pier.
- The event currency is known as Lucky Envelopes, and can be earned in a variety of ways.

The Wish Tree
Each day you login to Palia, you will get a blank Wish Ribbon in your mailbox from Chayne. You can take it to the Maji Market and dye it a certain color before hanging it on the wish tree to get a reward the next day.

Play The Hotpot Minigame
You can play the Hotpot Minigame with up to four people. This fun minigame involves matching sets of tiles in one of the hotpot tables on the pier to earn Lucky Envelopes.
Play The Chapaa Chase Minigame
Each night during the Maji Market, right after midnight, the Chapaas all escape their pens. You will need to run around to catch Chapaas and return them to the pen.
The Chapaa Chase minigame lasts for four minutes, and the goal is to return as many Chapaas as you can. You get five Lucky Envelopes for every Chapaa you return yourself, and then more Lucky Envelopes based on how many Chapaas all players caught.
Chaos ensues as all the surrounding players also run and try to catch Chapaas. Be strategic. If you see someone running to get a Chapaa, don’t chase after the same one. Use your best judgment to decide if you should try to chase something else.
