Lords Of The Fallen can really test your gaming skills. The whole game, from its environment to the enemies and even the bosses, poses a constant challenge. Every step you take could lead you into a trap or throw you into a fight for survival. But the real tough nuts to crack in the game are the bosses.

PostsThese bosses serve as the ultimate trials, often acting as roadblocks to your advancement. You might find yourself grappling with a few of them, yearning for some assistance. Luckily, the game offers a familiar feature: the ability to summon NPC allies, akin to what you've encountered in other soulslike games.
How To Summon NPCs
The first thing to know is that you can only summon NPCs for help during certain boss battles, not all of them. Typically, you can summon NPCs for major bosses, but when facing mini-bosses, you're on your own.
When you step into a boss fight for the first time, you won't have the option to summon any NPCs. The game challenges you to confront the boss solo for that initial encounter. Be prepared, as it's quite likely you'll meet your demise on this first attempt due to the boss's unpredictable attack patterns.
But, on your return to the boss's location, you'll come across a moth barrier you need to interact with before starting the fight. However, there's more to it than that.
Just before the moth barrier, you'll notice moths forming the shapes of certain NPCs you've interacted with before. These are the ones available to help you against this particular boss.
Interacting with one of these moths allows you to "Beckon" them, summoning their assistance during the boss fight.
Now after you confirm your NPC summon, you might be wondering where they are, but much like when you summon a Specter in Lies of P, they'll appear as soon as you enter the boss arena.
While specific NPCs are available against specific bosses, some of them require you to engage in conversation and exhaust their dialogue before they become available as a summon.
The key here is to always interact with any NPC you come across and lend them a hand when needed or basically complete their quest. This is how to have them appear as summons in boss fights.
Summoning an NPC doesn't guarantee your victory, so it's not wise to depend solely on them. While they join the boss fight, they can divert the boss's attention away from you, creating opportunities for you to attack or heal more safely.
