Defeat Steward The Demon Sealer And The Demon Lord In Lost Castle 2 With These Tips And Tricks
Once you finally reach the end of the Black Castle in Lost Castle 2, you'll face off against Steward The Demon Sealer, and one of his demons. Like other boss fights in the game, this is a two-stage fight, only you won't be fighting the same boss in both phases.
Rather than changing a bit, the second phase of this fight will be with a massive demon instead of Steward The Demon Sealer. If you've played Hades, then this second phase will look a bit like the Typhon fight, where you're fighting against a giant head, rather than an enemy that joins you on the battlefield.
Phase One: Steward The Demon Sealer
Once you're approaching the final fight, you'll take a little elevator ride up to what appears to be the rooftop of the castle. There, you'll watch the standard boss introduction, and the fight will begin. Immediately, once the fight begins, Steward will charge you with his sword, so be prepared to dodge roll right away.
Steward, being the last boss of this run, is both quick and powerful, so you'll want to stay constantly moving while fighting this phase of the final boss and wait for his down moments to attack. Occasionally, he'll become winded for a moment or become stationary while charging up an attack; both of these are your best opportunities to do as much damage as possible.
As for what attacks you can look out for, here is a breakdown of Steward's attacks:
Attack
Explanation
Standard Attack
Steward's standard attack will consist of various singular swipes of his sword and occasional singular jabs. These are easy enough to avoid or block, so you can be a bit riskier when he's doing basic attacks.
Flurry Swipes And Jabs
This attack is a combination of moves in which Steward will rush you with the sword, follow with a few quick jabs, and then do a small jump with a final swipe. These moves are all in quick succession and always in the same patterns. There will be no time to stop and attack, so just stay mobile until he stops.
Charged Dive Bomb
When you see Steward start to turn completely black and become stationary, take this opportunity to get in some damage while you can. However, keep in mind that this is a charge-up, so once he jumps into the air, you'll see a target form on the ground that will track you.
To avoid taking damage, you'll need to dodge at the right second, which is exactly when he hits the ground. Once he lands, several small ghost-like figures will appear and attempt to follow and damage you. They don't do a ton of damage, but they are annoying, so get rid of them quickly.
Charged Dash
Another one of Steward's charge-up moves will be a dash in which he attempts to pierce you with his sword. You'll be able to tell it's coming by the same black charging appearance that occurs before the Dive Bomb move. Only this time, you'll see what looks like a sparkle effect on him right before he dashes at you.
When Steward is charging up, if you do enough damage, you can exhaust him and snap him out of the charge-up attack before it happens.

Once you've done enough damage to Steward, his time will be over, and you'll face the Demon Lord of Destruction. As mentioned, the Demon is rather large, so he won't be joining you on the battlefield and will instead appear looking over the arena from the edge of the castle. All you'll see for the duration of this fight are his head and arms.
Immediately when he pops up, the first thing he'll likely do is shoot a laser out of his face, which will track you, so don't stand in place for too long. You'll be able to do damage to any of his appendages at any point, but your best opportunity for damage will be when he becomes exhausted and lays his head down on the arena for you to attack.
As for the rest of his moves, here's what you can expect:
Attack
Explanation
Claw Smack And Swipe
This is a pretty standard attack that will take place almost anytime you're in the general center of the arena. During this attack, the Demon will smack one of its hands down in the center of the arena in an attempt to squash you like a bug. The easiest way to avoid this is to stay out of the direct center when you can, as the hands will never smack down on the far sides of the arena.
That said, when he pulls his hand up, he'll also drag his claw across the side of the arena on that same side as the arm, so best to be on the other side entirely.
Sting
While it's not necessarily an arm, in addition to the smack of its hand, it will also drop what looks to be a stinger. There are occasionally multiples of them, but sometimes only one. You can prepare for them by watching for ground markers. The stingers will also often appear at the top of the screen before they strike down.
Tracking Laser Beam
While they will often strike the ground, the stingers can also appear, producing a laser beam that strikes the ground immediately beneath them. It will remain on and tracking for a few moments, so just stay out of its way by staying on the move.
You'll get the same ground-marker warning right before it begins, so just keep watch for any warnings on the ground that indicate something is incoming.
Side-To-Side Laser Beams
In addition to the tracking lasers, there will also occasionally be laser strikes that move from one side of the arena to another in a straight line, for which you'll be able to see the warning before they start. The laser itself will still be vertical and slow-moving, so just stay out of the pre-warned path it's moving along.
Occasionally, there will only be one laser strike, but most often there will be two, one near the Demon and one near the bottom of the screen.
Quadruple Sting And Energy Blast
To mix things up and make things complicated, the Demon will also occasionally drop four stingers down at once. There will be two on each side, and they'll have red markers indicating areas of damage when they attack. That said, while the obvious choice is to run dead center, don't do that.
Once the two back stingers are pulled up, the face of the Demon will shoot off a massive blast of energy straight down the middle of the arena that you won't be able to avoid if you're standing anywhere remotely in the center.
To make things even more fun, this blast will continue for a few seconds, and the stingers will then begin to randomly strike the ground on the sides. My advice is to stay on the side, but as close to the face as you can to avoid taking damage.
Plus, once this move concludes, he will become exhausted and lay his head down for a moment, which you can attack.
Multi-Laser
Once he wakes up from the massive blast and exhaustion, he will immediately shoot off multiple lasers from his face that go straight out in various directions. They don't move around too much, so just find a gap, and you should be fine.
That said, during this time, there will also be strikes happening horizontally at the front and back of the arena, forcing you to remain in the middle, but just watch out for the squish spot.
Lightning Strikes
At various points during the fight, you'll also have lightning strikes hitting the ground, but you can avoid them by looking for signs of the strike on the ground before they happen. These lightning strikes are always immediately followed by shadow-like strikes that randomly hit the ground as well.
Sweeping Energy Blast
In addition to the massive blast that goes right down the middle during certain attacks, there will also be a sweeping energy blast from the Demon's mouth you need to watch out for, where he will move his head from one side of the arena to the other and then back. To avoid major damage, just dodge roll through the blast to the other side.
Once you've defeated the Demon, which will take some time, so be patient, you'll receive your reward materials and be allowed to progress into the castle. Here, you'll watch a brief scene, and then your run will be forcibly concluded.
When you return to camp, you will now have access to the game's sort of post-game hard mode, Ethereal Nightmare, which will lead you to the true ending.
Additionally, if you haven't completed them already, this is an opportunity to go down the other path options that are presented to you mid-run.
