Three things are certain in life. Death, taxes, and another Like A Dragon game will be released in the very near future. We've already had one this year, there's another still to come before the end of 2023, and now we know less than a month into 2024 yet another title in the Yakuza series will be here. Somehow though, we're not getting tired of them. Two games a year and we all still want more, and 2024's Infinite Wealth is definitely going to be that.
Ryu Ga Gotoku gave us our best look yet at Infinite Wealth during its summit, although to be fair that wasn't all that hard since all we'd seen of it prior to that was Ichiban Kasuga waking up naked on a Hawaiian beach. Turns out the reason Ichiban is there is to track down his long-lost mother, but somewhere along the way he gets tangled up in some typical Yakuza hijinx.

Ichiban won't be the only lead Like A Dragon character whose journey continues in Infinite Wealth. We now know a little more about Kiryu and why he looks different in the upcoming Yakuza game. Turns out Kiryu is battling cancer, and it doesn't sound like the prognosis is all that good. Nevertheless, he will keep on fighting in Infinite Wealth, and since he will need the help of his allies in battle, the turn-based format will return and actually make a lot of sense, allowing Kiryu to take a breather and for his friends to step in when needed.

FAQ
What Time Does Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth Release?
Sega hasn't provided an official release time for Infinite Wealth, but it's expected to be available to play from mistatic.aayyy.com/topic/dn/ight local time on release day (January 26, 2024).
Why Did They Change The Name Of The Series From Yakuza To Like A Dragon?
Known as Yakuza for so long, changing its established name was definitely a risk. However, developers from RGG Studio explained that the change was needed in the West due to the series' popularity exploding outside of Japan after Yakuza 0. The name change was also due in part to the games moving away from being solely battles against the Yakuza, hence the switch via the latest installments.
What Is The Longest Yakuza/Like A Dragon Game?
You might think with so many games releasing in quick succession that Like A Dragon titles might not take that long to play through and complete. That's not always the case. Yakuza 5 is the longest in the series, taking more than 35 hours to play through its main story. Yakuza 0 is close behind on 30 hours, and most of the other games in the series tend to take around 20 hours to finish.
Is Yakuza: Like A Dragon A Good Game To Start With?
No matter how good a new Like A Dragon game looks, if you've not played the previous entries in the series, catching up with everything that has come before can be pretty daunting. Yakuza: Like A Dragon is a pretty good jumping-on point if you don't want to play through all of the other games. Yakuza 0 is the best starting point if you do want to play everything even though it wasn't the first game released
