Summary

  • Stick to default jobs if intimidated by options - can progress fine in main story with right equipment.
  • Breaker has cool attacks and utility, Linebacker is great for Adachi - both offer unique combat strategies.
  • Geodancer provides healing support, Housekeeper offers elemental magic - mix jobs for optimal party setup.

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth has a relatively complex job system based on real-life jobs and social statuses. The system has enough depth to give you control over how the party feels in combat. However, you might be a little intimidated by the options and maybe even afraid to experiment.

This list will point you in a good direction of what jobs you should focus on first during Ichiban Kasuga's adventure. The good news is that it's hard to fatally mess up and put yourself into an inescapable corner with a bad build. The game always warns you about long sections with no save points so you can create a save state you can always load up if your party is not up to a particular battle.

The further you get in the game, the faster new jobs level up with the increased job EXP battles give you.

7 Unique Job For Each Character

Don't Experiment If You Don't Want To

If you are too worried about drawing outside the lines, the game has you covered. If you stick to the default starting job for each party member, you will be taken care of through the main story up until the credits as long as you keep your equipment up to date and are at a high enough level.

Each job also corresponds to the character's personality, so it even makes sense for the narrative to stick with these jobs for a little while. The story often keeps the party slim, with at most one character sitting out battles, so you don't have to worry about using the wrong character combinations either.

Kasuga is the only character with more than one unique job. He starts out as a Freelancer before earning the Hero job. Later on, he can become a Sujimon Trainer if you defeat the first of the discreet four.

6 Breaker

Available For Male Characters

We'd be lying if we said cool-looking attacks weren't one of the major reasons for putting Breaker on this list. Still, the job has great utility in combat, especially as inherited skills. Most of the skills have a chance of buffing one of the user's stats, making it a great option for long fights.

Pair the right ability with a different job and you open up a whole new world of possibilities for any of the characters. By itself, though, the job still contributes well to a fight in an offensive role.

5 Linebacker

Best Job For Adachi

The Linebacker is dressed up in an American Football uniform, as the job title implies. It is based around a tank role. Many of its abilities enrage the enemy, which makes the enemy only attack the one who inflicted the status effect on them. Adachi is the perfect party member to level up this job because he is already a tank in his Detective job.

He immediately has a lot of health, so switch him to Linebacker and either let him stay there or level him up enough until you can inherit some of the abilities. Beef up his defense with accessories and you have a tank character who can distract enemies from other, weaker party members.

The Linebacker job, along with Tennis Ace, are only available to those who purchased the Master Vacation DLC. This DLC also includes the Big Swell dungeon, the Millenium Tower dungeon, and the New Game+ option.

4 Geodancer

Available For Female Characters

The Geodancer offers a plethora of general support abilities. Its healing abilities can help out the party in a pinch, and during longer fights, you can consistently increase the party's Willpower and Evasion with Ukele Strum. Whoever has the job is not left completely defenseless either since the attack power is at least decent enough for fodder enemies at your level. Most of these abilities are super cheap on your MP, too.

3 Housekeeper

Available For Female Characters

A lot of jobs in Infinite Wealth might only have one elemental magic associated with their spells. For those who want a more all encompassing mage character, level up the Housekeeper job for a bit to at least give you some options when inheriting skills. The Scrumscraper ability removes enemy buffs, making it helpful in bigger battles.

Leveling up the Housekeeper and having some inherited skills will help a lot. This will ensure that you never run into a battle against an enemy with an elemental weakness that you can't exploit.

If you don't have a Housekeeper, you should always make sure you have Water, Fire, and Lightning attacks among your party.

2 Aquanaut

Best For Tomizawa

We recommend the Aquanaut job for Tomizawa early on because its focus on Water attacks pairs nicely with the Cabbie skills. Where the Cabbie job focuses on Electric attacks, Aquanaut mostly deals water damage against groups of enemies, which will make Tomizawa a more well rounded party member.

Beachside Bro-fette is also a healing ability that can get the whole party out of a jam. You unlock the job quickly once you reach Chapter 5 and the job system opens up.

1 Idol

For Female Party Members. A Great Healer

If you are ambitious and want to take on higher level enemies early on, you are going to need some serious support. The Idol job has numerous healing abilities.

It can also charm enemies with Impish kiss, which can help turn the tide of a battle by temporarily bringing an enemy to your side for a few turns. The Medical Concert ability is the ultimate healing spell since it restores everyone's HP in one go. It's useful, but it does take 70MP, so be wise with it.
