During Joryu’s romp through Sotenbori he will be able to encounter a number of Master System ROMs. We’ll show you where to find each and every one of them so that you can sit back and enjoy these timeless classics.

How Do I Play My Master System Games?

Frustratingly, you will be able to acquire Master System games long before you actually get access to a Master System to play them on. You'll have to wait until certain events unfold in Chapter 3 before you gain access to the Daidojo hideout that comes stocked with a Master System. On the plus side, once you do acquire a Master System of your own you will immediately get four games with it.

The Master System comes with Secret Command, Maze Hunter 3-D, Penguin Land, and Fantasy Zone.

Fantasy Zone 2

Fantasy Zone 2 can be found in locker F4. This Coin Locker Key is found on S Shofukucho. It is right around the corner from the Gambling Hall, hidden in a narrow crevice between that building and the one it butts up against. You will be able to obtain this ROM the moment you are able to move freely through the streets of Sotenbori. Once you have the key, head toward the Bishimon Bridge and claim your prize.

Galaxy Force

Galaxy Force will most likely be the first Master System game you encounter. It can be purchased from the Ebisu Pawn Shop on E Shofukucho for a paltry 5,500 yen.

Flicky

You will find Flcky balancing on top of an umbrella on the north side of the Sotenbori Footpaths, south of Sotenbori St.

Alex Kidd in Miracle World

This is another game found precariously balancing on top of an umbrella. However, this one is located in the Castle. So, you will need to progress through that part of the second chapter in order to obtain it.

Alien Syndrome

This is another game found inside a locker. You will need the key for locker F1 to acquire this one. You won't be able to acquire this key until you have unlocked the Daidoji base. However, since you can't play Master System games before unlocking that same base, that isn't actually much of a burden.

Enduro Race

Enduro Race is the final game you will find located inside of a locker. This one is in locker I4. You'll find the key for this locker up in a tree on W Sotenbori Footpath, near the Bishamon Bridge.

Quartet

Quartet is obtained by cashing out your chips at the Castle Casino and exchanging it for 2,500 of them. If you aren't interested in gambling, you could just exchange your money for chips. This will cost you a grand total of 250,000 yen if you obtain it that way.

Global Defense

Global Defense is acquired in the exact same way as Quartet, but you will exchange for it at the Castle Gambling Hall instead of the Casino. Like Quartet, you can simply exchange your money for the required 2,500 chips and it will cost you 250,000 yen.
