Most expected Nintendo to have a chilled year in 2024 as it builds to the reveal of the Switch's successor. With very little planned for the year's second half right up until June, that was a reasonable belief to have. Then Nintendo held its June Direct and revealed some very big games coming throughout the rest of 2024 and into 2025. One of the biggest reveals was a first look at a brand new Zelda game. The Legend Of Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom, releasing on September 26.

Zelda fans have been waiting for Nintendo to show off some rumored remasters for years, so when the trailer for Echoes Of Wisdom began, it felt like that time had finally come. Especially since the upcoming Zelda game has a similar art style to Link's Awakening, one of the games rumored to have a remaster at the ready. However, it slowly became clear that this wasn't anything we'd seen before and was, in fact, an entirely new Zelda game.

Now that entirely new Zelda game is almost here, but it's still not too late to place your pre-order. There are no special editions so no tough and potentially expensive decision to make there, but in typical Nintendo fashion, the pre-order bonuses for Echoes Of Wisdom are a little all over the place. If you have placed a pre-order through Best Buy, then you should get an acrylic stand, depending on availability. Get the game at GameStop before release day and it will come with a fabric poster.

It was unclear at first whether Echoes Of Wisdom would be a digital-only release since at first, pre-orders were only available for digital copies of the game. Although certain corners of the industry are headed for an all-digital future, doing that to Echoes Of Wisdom wouldn't have felt like a wise decision. If you were waiting for physical pre-orders to become available, that time is now and they can be placed ahead of the game's launch next week.

Also noteworthy that Walmart and Amazon aren't selling Echoes Of Wisom pre-orders, at least not in the US. Amazon canceled US pre-orders for all Switch-exclusive Nintendo games earlier this year and hasn't listed any of the platform's new releases since. Walmart canceled pre-orders for Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door and Luigi's Mansion 2 HD days before each of them was released without much explanation. This time it might not bother even offering pre-orders and just make it known Echoes Of Wisdom will be available in store from release day.
