Summary

  • Lego is adding another set to its Sonic the Hedgehog range - a replica of Shadow's head.
  • A first look at the set has been shared with a full reveal coming later this week during San Diego Comic-Con.
  • Since there's only an image of the set for now, how much it will cost and how many piece it's made of remain unknown.

Sonic's Lego collection has grown significantly since Lego tested the waters via its original Green Hill Zone set. Various locations and characters have been introduced since, but none has received more attention in the past year than Shadow. 2024 is the Year of Shadow, after all, and Lego continues to celebrate that via the reveal of yet another Shadow set, one that will leave you with a bust of the brooding hedgehog to display proudly once complete.

A 3D model of the Shadow set was shared by The Hollywood Reporter with a full official reveal coming this weekend during San Diego Comic-Con. The set is unlike any of the other Sonic or Shadow sets available so far. It's a Lego recreation of Shadow's head displayed on a plinth with a plaque at the bottom. There also appear to be a few rings, similar to or maybe even the same as the Lego rings that come with the Green Hill Zone set.

The rotating model of the set is the only thing about it that has been shared for now. That means we currently don't know how many pieces it's made of or how much it's going to cost. Since this is the first set of its kind in Lego's Sonic range, it's difficult to gauge how big it will be or how much it will cost. Judging by the size compared to the rings it comes with and some of the pieces that stand out, I'd guess the set is a little bigger and more elaborate than Lego's BrickHeadz sets.

I Never Want The Year Of Shadow To End

If I'm right, that'll mean the set is a few hundred pieces and hopefully won't cost much more than $20 or $30. Again, that's just an estimate for now as nothing official about the set's size or price has even been hinted at, let alone confirmed. The set joins two others available at Lego right now starring Shadow. The Shadow's Escape set released at the end of 2023 inspired by the beginning of Shadow's standalone PS2 game, and a BrickHeadz two-pack that also includes Knuckles.

Shadow's new Lego set may well steal some of the spotlight from the biggest Lego announcement of the week once it gets an official reveal - Lego's first Fortnite sets. It was only a matter of time until Lego Fortnite sets became a thing after the launch of the game's Lego mode at the end of last year. Four sets kicked off the collection, turning Fortnite's Battle Bus, Durrr Burger, Peely Bone, and Supply Llama into Lego sets of varying sizes and prices.
