Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Review Round-Up: Overwhelmingly Positive

Summary
- Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 reviews are highly positive, with mostly high scores across the board.
- Critics praise the sequel's story and RPG mechanics.
- This comes ahead of the game's launch tomorrow.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 reviews just dropped, and they're looking very good so far. At the time of writing, the long-awaited sequel is sitting at an 89 on OpenCritic and an 87 on Metacritic.
As long as it doesn't dip too far as more reviews come in, this is a much better performance than the first game back in 2018, which sits at a 72 on OpenCritic.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Reviews Are Looking Great
The sequel is scoring much higher than the first game
via Warhorse StudiosIn our review, senior video producer Sam Hallahan gave the game a perfect score of five stars. He praised the game's story, noting that it is a "significant step up" from the first entry.
"Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is, in almost every way, the RPG that so many fans have been asking for," Hallahan concludes. "With Baldur’s Gate 3 taking the world by storm, amidst so many other RPGs that widely missed the mark, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 presents a colossal, in-depth, beautiful, masterfully designed game right at the start of 2025."
We're not the only site to go for the perfect score, with John Cotts from Game Rant,
Callum Marshall from DualShockers, and Khayl Adam from Push Square also finding little at fault with Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
"In daring to deliver its singular vision for a game, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 transports even the most grizzled genre veterans back to a time of truly immersive video game experiences," writes Khayl Adam for Push Square. "Challenging, uncompromising, and thoroughly engrossing, it's in a league almost entirely of its own."

Posts 6Of course, there are a range of scores coming in. Eurogamer went for a three out of five, with Katherine Castle finding it difficult to get into. "Like the original, this isn't an RPG designed to make you feel good - you continue to be little more than a passenger in this historical tapestry, following along behind the horse tails of Henry's betters, and clearing up the mess they leave behind," she writes. "Some will revel in that work, but I for one won't be chomping at the bit for another sequel any time soon."
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 launches tomorrow. We'll have to wait and see where the user score lands once it's in the hands of players, but for now, it certainly seems to be off to a good start.
