While the first four chapters were hard to get through in Iris Fall, the fifth chapter takes it to the next level because of the type of puzzles involved. This chapter is the only one with a puzzle that might not be intuitive to some players. Apart from that, it also has a puzzle related to Rubik's Cube that can spin your head.

As you progress through different chapters of the game, you'll start learning more about the place you're currently in, and some secrets about the main character will also be revealed. Throughout your journey, an adorable cat will be your guide while it will also make things hard for you at times.

How To Solve The Lamp Puzzle

Once you get past the moving platform puzzle in the third chapter and use the book to manifest your human form, you'll be able to go through the door and land in a dark room with an altar-type object in the middle. An uncanny thing about this room is that it will be filled with eyes, and these eyes will give you nightmares later.

On one side of the altar, there will be a pedestal with a white dot on top. When you get to the pedestal, you'll be able to control a lamp. This lamp can perform two functions: you can move it to any of the spots marked by numbers in the picture above, and you can change its height.

This puzzle is quite unique as it's the only part where the cat will be with you. Most times, the cat gets to the final destination of the room and watches you struggle with the puzzle. This time, it will still watch you struggle except it will be near you.

Moreover, this is probably the only puzzle in Iris Fall that's not as intuitive. While you might understand how to solve it after some tries, it might not feel satisfying.

Keeping the numbers assigned to each spot in the picture in mind, here's how you can solve this puzzle:

  • When you start the puzzle, the lamp will be in the tall form on the first spot. Click on the circle below the lamp to shorten its length, and move it to the fourth spot through the second and third spots in this form. Once you're on the fourth spot, click on the circle below the lamp again to increase its height.
  • You will see that a part of the shape on the ground will light up. Now, reduce the height of the lamp on the fourth spot itself and move it back to the first spot through the third and second spots afterward.
  • Increase the height of the lamp on the first spot and decrease it again instantly after. Now, you have to get to the fourth spot again with the lamp's short form, but take the route with the fifth and sixth spots this time.
  • Once again, increase and decrease the height at the fourth spot, and move back to the first spot through the fifth and sixth spots. When you raise the lamp's height on the first slot, the puzzle will be finished.

How To Solve The Rubik's Cube Puzzles

The next part is by far the hardest puzzle in Iris Fall. When you finish the lamp puzzle, a drill will come out, and it will drag a Rubik's Cube out of the ground. The giant cube will remain in the air, while a smaller one will fly to the pedestal you used for the previous puzzle. Upon interacting with the small cube, you'll have six interactable buttons on the giant one.

The scary part is that you have to solve three different puzzles involving these cubes, not one. Upon solving one of these puzzles, a pathway will lead you upwards and reveal the next puzzle. The solutions to all three of these cube puzzles are different.

Another issue with this puzzle is that the pattern you find them in is always randomized. Because of that, there is no possibility of finding a pattern that will work for you unless you're super lucky.

While there isn't a specific pattern, a few tips can make solving this puzzle a lot easier:

  • To solve these puzzles, you have to make sure that the blocks that have light coming out of them shine on the doors with eyes on them. For the first puzzle, you'll have to align two light blocks with two eye doors. For the second and third ones, there will be four eyes that will need light.
  • Pay attention to the position the doors are placed in since this will tell you where you have to place the light blocks. For example, in the second cube puzzle, the light boxes need to be on the diagonally opposite ends of the right side, and on the top part of the left side.
  • Don't move the cube randomly. Whenever you press one of the six buttons to rotate a cube in a certain way, make sure you have the end result in mind. Randomly moving the cube can make this puzzle a lot longer.
  • If you successfully shine a light on one of the required doors, try your best to not move that light unless it's necessary.

After solving three cube puzzles, a giant blue door will open behind you, which will lead you to chapter six.
