Summary

  • Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will reportedly release on PlayStation 5 during the first half of 2025, according to reputable insiders.
  • According to two reports on Monday, the game will have a timed exclusivity window on Xbox before making its way to PlayStation.
  • Should these rumors come true, then Indiana Jones would join the likes of Hi-Fi Rush, Pentiment, Grounded and Sea of Thieves, as well as the upcoming Doom: The Dark Ages as "Exclusives" to appear on both consoles.
  • Gamescom Opening Night Live is set for Tuesday, so perhaps additional information will be shared then.

It appears that another potential Xbox exclusive will be making its way to PlayStation relatively soon. This time, it's rumored that Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will be released on PS5 within the first half of 2025.

As first reported by insider NateTheHate, the upcoming Indiana Jones title will seemingly release in December as a timed exclusive for Xbox and PC. Then, once that exclusivity window ends, it'll be released on PS5 in the first half of 2025.

Those rumors were further corroborated by Insider Gaming's Tom Henderson. According to Henderson, "some outlets have been given the heads up on the news and have signed NDAs." He added that he is unsure if the information will be announced at Tuesday's Gamescom Opening Night Live, or potentially down the line.

Monday's batch of rumors follows reporting from Tom Warren, another credible insider, from early February, where the journalist reported that "Bethesda is also considering bringing Indiana Jones and the Great Circle to PS5." It would appear that it's no longer a consideration and will be the reality at some point.

Indiana Jones Wouldn't Be The First "Exclusive" To Jump Ship

Already, four previous Xbox "exclusives" in the form of Hi-Fi Rush, Pentiment, Sea of Thieves and Grounded made their way to Sony's flagship console earlier in the year. Then, when Doom: The Dark Ages was revealed, it was announced that it would also simultaneously release on PS5.

Should Indiana Jones make the jump, it would be another title in previously considered "Exclusives" to appear on both consoles. For the uninitiated, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is being developed by MachineGames, the same team behind the Wolfenstein games. It's an original story featuring an iconic archaeologist with a distinctive first-person perspective.

No release date has been announced, though it has been given a 2024 window.
