Use A Hard Card

This method is quite easy to do as you can use any type of hard card you have at your disposal (bank card, ID card, business card, etc.).

Before attempting this, you should collapse the Pop Socket because an expanded Pop Socket has more surface area contact with your phone/cover, increasing the strength of the adhesive bond.

Follow these steps to remove a Pop Socket using a card:

1. Slide the card of your choice under the Pop Socket.
2. Slowly begin prying the Pop Socket by applying upward pressure toward the opposite end of the Pop Socket.
3. Once you feel the glue lifting from the phone/cover, you can get a finger under the Pop Socket.
4. Continue slowly prying upward toward the opposite direction.

Applying too much force too quickly could break the card you're using, and more than likely would separate the adhesive layer from the base of the PopSocket, rendering it unusable in the future.

You might be tempted to use a fingernail, but don't. The last thing you need is for it to break. Not only would you be in pain, you wouldn't have removed the Pop Socket.

Use Nail Polish Remover

If you have zero interest in struggling and you don't plan on using the Pop Socket again, nail polish remover is the most efficient method of removing a Pop Socket. Why? Because it will dissolve the sticky adhesive under the Pop Socket that has glued it to your phone/cover.

There are two ways you can do this, the first being:

1. Use a card like the first method, to create some separation between the Pop Socket and your phone/cover.
2. Use a cloth or Q-tip that has nail polish remover on it and gently wipe away at the adhesive.
3. As the Pop Socket starts lifting, continue wiping away at the adhesive with your cloth/Q-tip.
4. Once the Pop Socket comes off, use some nail polish remover to remove any leftover adhesive.

The second method is faster but a bit messier:

1. Lay your phone down on a flat surface.
2. Use a card like the first method, to create some separation between the Pop Socket and your phone/cover.
3. Pour a small amount of nail polish remover under the exposed gap.
4. Wait a few minutes before gently lifting the Pop Socket from your phone/cover.

You'll want to be sure the nail polish remover won't damage your phone, so it's advised to use this method if the Pop Socket is attached to the cover of your phone.

Use A Hair Dryer

If using nail polish remover sounds slightly unsafe to you, using a hair dryer is another convenient, low-effort method. Hair dryers work well for removing adhesive because the heat causes the adhesive to melt, allowing you to lift the Pop Socket off your phone/cover easily. Follow these steps:

1. Gently create some separation between the Pop Socket and your phone/cover to expose a bit of the adhesive.
2. Aim the hair dryer at the adhesive and move it back and forth slightly for about 30 seconds.
3. Try to lift the Pop Socket off. If you can't, repeat the process until the adhesive has melted or is loose enough.

This method works well for really strong adhesives. Be sure to move the hair dryer back and forth slightly while doing it so as not to concentrate the heat on one spot. This may inadvertently cause your phone to overheat, or you may burn your finger.

Use Dental Floss

The last quick method requiring an item you probably have on hand is using dental floss. To do this method:

1. Slide the dental flossunder the Pop Socket.
2. Move it down with some force, slowly, or slide it back and forth like a saw.
3. Eventually, you should get through to the other side, at which point the dental floss will be free again.
4. Now, simply lift the Pop Socket off your phone/cover.

For faster results, dip the dental floss in nail remover polish to cut through the adhesive faster.
