'Twas the night before Silksong, when all through the house, the gamers were stirring, their hand on their mouse. After almost seven long years, Hollow Knight: Silksong is on the precipice of release. Countless predictions, innumerable meltdowns, and a handful of sacrifices are all in the past, as this year's most anticipated title is almost here.

While many of Silksong's secrets are likely to remain undiscovered for an extended period, especially given the considerable time Team Cherry has had to work on the game, others are coming to light as the development team continues to reveal details about the game. The latest piece of information provides great news for PC players, as it's been confirmed that there will be support for ultrawide monitors at launch.

PC Players Rejoice, Hollow Knight: Silksong Will Have Ultrawide Support At Launch

Speaking on Twitter, Matthew Griffin, marketer and publisher for Team Cherry (and Mongoose Rodeo, which is developing the awesome Crowsworn), revealed that Silksong will launch with ultrawide support. The game, on PC, will fully support ratios of up to 21:9.

Alongside the tweet, Griffin shared four ultrawide images of Silksong, and they're as beautiful as you'd expect.

The first shows the hornet in a lush green environment, the second what will presumably be the Dirtmouth-like hub area, the third a mansion-like zone, and the fourth a dark and dusky graveyard. Although I won't be playing on PC, Hollow Knight was a Switch game for me, and Silksong will bless my Switch 2, these images have done enough to whet my appetite ahead of tomorrow's launch.

While plenty of us are clearly excited about Silksong, with the game immediately likely to become one of the most successful indies ever, overtaking the lifetime sales of the Metroid series, others have their trepidations. September 2025 is shaping up to have the fewest game releases of the year, and for a long time before that, with many developers likely delaying their game to get out of the path that Silksong is likely to bulldoze.
