Here Are The Last-Ever Silkposts Before Hollow Knight: Silksong Released

After seven long years, the wait is over. Hollow Knight: Silksong is here, and with it, the era of desperate, copium-fuelled Silkposting is at an end. But before we close the book on Silkposting for good, let's look back at the very last ones to be shared before the game was released.
70 Percent Off? What A Bargain
Just moments before Silksong launched, u/anxiety_ftw desperately tried to trick everyone into thinking that the game was even cheaper than we thought in the last ever true Silkpost, with a falsified screenshot showing a 70 percent launch discount.
$20 is a steal, but $6? I'd just feel bad at that point.
Sorry Folks, No Silksong Until 2046
Shortly after, u/Plasmapichu posted a mock-up apology from Team Cherry, using the Cyberpunk 2077 apology's skeleton as a Mad-libs template, announcing that, at the last possible second, Silksong had been delayed by over two decades.
"We're aware it might seem unrealistic when someone says that 21 years can make any difference in such a massive and complex game, but they really do".
One More Hour... And One More Hour... And One More Hour
u/The_Ninja_Allay also went for the delay route, whipping up a fake Steam screenshot where the release date had been pushed back by one, solitary hour. It might've been a Silkpost, but with Team Cherry breaking the internet, that's pretty much exactly what happened.
Team Cherry Deleted Silksong, Start The Timer Again
As the clock struck 12 (i.e. 3pm BST), u/Kokodi01 shared a fake Team Cherry tweet, revealing the worst possible news. They lost the game. No, really. It's gone.
"We're really sorry to announce that we pressed the wrong button again. Instead of the 'Silksong, RELEASE!!' button, we have accidentally pushed the 'Delete Skong' button. See y'all in like 6 years lmao".
Speedrunning Silksong Before It's Even Out
Then we have the players who pretended to get in early, like u/FrontEnsemble, who held an AMA about their experience with Silksong after beating it in under a minute. "It was really fun, just got the first sub 50 (seconds)," they told one commenter.
Hornet Leak (Gone Wrong)
But the best Silkpost by far came courtesy of u/jj_olli, who shared what they claimed to be an in-game model of Hornet, obscuring it with a spoiler tag to hide the truth that it was in fact the Halo vehicle of the same name. "Peak Halo referenced in the ten minutes before Silksong, amazing," one commenter wrote.
There were dozens more before the end, as the entire community's unfettered ramblings coalesced into white noise. But these were some of the last, a string of haphazard memes hurled into the void as the timer finally ticked down to zero.
RIP Silkposting, 2018-2025.
