Hollow Knight: Silksong Fans Are All Being Traumatized By A Single Bench

Hollow Knight: Silksong has been kicking the rears of pretty much everyone that picks it up. From its difficult platforming, to its early-game bosses that can smear you across the floor with ease, it feels like almost everything in Pharloom is trying to kill you and that nowhere is safe. Even the game's benches aren't safe.
That's what many players have been finding out over the weekend, as in what can only be described as an act of pure evil on Team Cherry's part, there is a bench in Silksong that is rigged to damage you when Hornet sits on it. Not only is it found in Hunter's March, one of the most annoying areas in the game, but the trap also deals two masks worth of damage, most likely killing you when you thought you'd reached safety.
Hollow Knight: Silksong's Bench Trap Is Traumatizing Players
Understandably, Team Cherry's betrayal has rankled several Silksong players, including Reddit user Such_Food4915, who said in a new post on the Hollow Knight subreddit that this bench trap is "the most anger I have ever felt for any game ever". It's okay Such_Food4915, I'm right there with you, and I think most Silksong fans are.
Their post is full of other traumatized players, including a user called Nomansland008, who admits to sitting on the bench a second time and getting whacked again, thinking that they'd set it off the first time and now it was safe. If you thought that was stupid, spare a thought for a user called XiaoRCT, who admits to sitting on it a third time.
You can find clips all over Twitter too, with one user called Dazr having recorded the moment they were ruthlessly put down by Team Cherry having thought they'd found a lifeline after running around with one mask for so long. It seems like we now know why Silksong took so long to make. Team Cherry had to take the time to think up all the diabloical ways it could screw us over, and this bench might be their magnum opus.
