Though Hornet may not wish to be a permanent resident of Pharloom in Hollow Knight: Silksong, there is no harm in having a place to come back to during a long and tedious adventure into dangerous territory. That is especially true when that place is somewhere as cozy and cute as a bellhome of your own.
Acquiring this achievement will take some time and a bit of elbow grease, but know that every kind deed you complete will come back to reward you tenfold. The residents of Bellhart won't let you leave without giving you your just desserts, and that's why they will make some amazing neighbours.
How To Unlock The Bellhome
Of course, to begin taking any steps to acquiring your own home, you have to find and save Bellhart first. That means you'll have to defeat Widow and complete the Threadspun Town task. Once you have opened Bellhart, continue to explore Pharloom and open new areas, returning occasionally to the Wish board. There are three quests you should complete:
- Restoration of Bellhart (required)
- My Missing Courier (recommended)
- My Missing Brother (recommended)
By donating 250 Rosaries, you will begin the reconstruction of the town. In the meantime, you should continue exploring Pharloom while also finishing the two courier quests in town. This will open a courier service which will be highly useful for the Rosaries you are about to spend.
It is not known if Silver Bells and Crawbug Clearing are required to make the Restoration of Bellheart available. While we do not believe they are, if you have made it to the Citadel without seeing Restoration of Bellhart as an option on the Wishboard, we recommend ensuring the courier quests are finished and then beginning to complete each of these sidequests. Pinmaster's Oil is not required.
As you continue building up the town and saving its patrons, talk to Pavo. Always make sure that he has nothing new to say as you continue to expand your map.
Eventually, the construction of Bellhart will be done once you have found more benches and explored more map areas. Once the construction is done, and if you have been good about doing the Wishes on the nearby board, your next conversation with Pavo will reward you with the Bellhome Key.
Your Bellhome will be located on the third level of the town, above the Pinmaster and Relic Seeker. Go up to its door and use the Bellhome Key to unlock it and, upon entering, receive the Resident trophy/achievement. For now, the only thing in this bellhome is a bed upon which you can rest. However, now that you have unlocked the home, you can begin decorating.
How To Decorate The Bellhome
Once you have the Bellhome Key, you can start purchasing decorations for your Bellhome. These are sold by Frey at the Bellhart general goods store. All of them are available from the start, except the Spa, which requires you to purchase two other home upgrades before it appears.
These items are very expensive, and they serve little practical use other than making your home look very pretty. Below is a full list of every upgrade and their price:
Upgrade
Price
What Is It?
Desk
380 Rosaries
Allows you to read Relics you have turned in to the Relic Seeker.
Gleamlights
320 Rosaries
Lights up the home's interior.
Bell Lacquer
520 Rosaries
Paint the outside of the bellhome with your choice of colour: Red, Silver, Black, Yellow, or Blue.
Personal Spa
1,100 Rosaries
Put in a second floor with a small hotspring that regenerates Silk and Masks.
There is an odd bug (hah!) that prevents you from talking to the shopkeep again after you purchase a housing item. To fix this, either leave the area and come back or use Needolin enough to make Frey sing. This also applies to the courier bugs if they are turned around and cannot be interacted with.
Almost all of these decorations will be done immediately after purchasing them, making them available once the black cutscene finishes. However, the Bell Lacquer will take some time to apply. You can watch the progress of paint on your home while you adventure.
It does not appear that, even after the paint has dried, you can change the colour of your bellhome. Whichever paint you choose seems to be permanent. Choose wisely.
How To Gather Money For The Bellhome Fast
Altogether, the price of all the bellhome upgrades is a staggering 2,320 Rosaries. This huge sum might look daunting, but we have a method that can get you all of those Rosaries in less than 45 minutes without using Rosary Strings or risking a loss.
This all relies on those courier quests we recommended you to do above. If you have unlocked Tipp & Pibb's Courier Service in Bellhart, you can begin making courier deliveries. These deliveries can pay very well.
Sometimes, there will be a unique task, such as the Queen's Egg delivery. Unlike other options, this will not disappear, no matter how many deliveries you make. We recommend getting these unique Wishes out of the way, picking up any Rosaries you can as you finish them.
For us, we did the Pilgrim's Rest run, netting about 239 Rosaries for each four-minute run. To successfully follow the same steps, you will need the Silkshot tool (or a similar tool item) and Pollip Pouch.
Sometimes, Pilgrim's Rest will not be available. Bone Bottom is the next best choice, netting 128 Rosaries if you defeat the fishermen on the way. However, Pilgrim's Rest is by far the best and safest option.
To do this run successfully, follow these steps:
- Go through Greymoor, taking out the scissor bug in the first room.
- Dash right until you reach the room with another scissor bug patrolling above. Destroy him from below if you can.
- When walking out into the room with the trident bug, use your trap to defeat it quickly. Kill the other bug beyond it before climbing up.
- Use your trap in the pilgrims room to take out the first three and last two bugs. You can kill the bellbearer between the pilgrim sets from below.
- Dash to Far Fields and fall down on the right side for the first two wind sections.
- Switch to the left side and fall down gently onto the left side next to the shortcut.
- Run to Pilgrim's Rest to drop off the package.
- Fall down toward the Bellway Station, but stop by the target practice room to kill both bugs.
- Take the Bellway back to Bellhart to repeat as necessary.
This is also good for storing up Rosaries for expenses like the Multibind tool or the Architect's supply. If you need to save them for later, do this run and then turn them into Rosary necklaces with Frey at the shop.
