While you fight for Liberty and Democracy, you may experience an issue where the game freezes the Drop Pod in space, and it never lands on the planet. This problem affects solo players and even the entire squad. This guide breaks down some quick fixes about how to remove the Stuck Drop Pod issue for the game on Steam and PlayStation 5.

What Is The Stuck In Drop Pod Issue?

The Drop Pod stuck issue occurs when you finalize a mission, select your loadout, and drop from your Destroyer. The Pod in which your diver travels freezes in orbit for infinite time and never lands on the planet. This can occur when you play solo or with squad mates.

The issue came after a series of initial game updates Arrowhead Game Studios released following the increasing traffic or player base of the game on PC Steam and PlayStation 5.

How To Fix Drop Pod Freeze Issue

We have tested fixing the Drop Pod freeze issue on PC Steam, and it has worked for us.

If you find yourself stuck on the Drop Pod loading screen, here's a potential fix to address the issue on your PC. Begin by exploring Users, AppData (Hidden), and Roaming Folder. Once there, delete the 'Arrowhead' folder. Next, go to Steam, Game Properties, Installed Files, and run 'Verify Integrity of Game Files.'

After completing this step, launch the app. The game should take you through the initial setup, where you can adjust Language, Brightness, and Sound options. Go through these settings and launch your game by selecting any mission. This short fix should solve the problem for you.

This method takes some time, but it fixes your game once and for all.

The second method we suggest is to explore the game's file location and locate the bin folder. Inside, find the game application executable file (helldivers2.exe). Right-click on the file, access Properties, and navigate to the Compatibility tab. Under this section, force the game to run with administrator privileges.

This step is crucial in case certain files face blocks from firewalls or encounter network access issues. After completing repairs and authentication, we implemented this quick fix and have encountered no issues since then.

Your Windows Firewall may stop the game from accessing the network, and setting the application to always run with administrator privileges will bypass such issues.

Another quick solution is to launch the Steam app and not start Helldivers 2. Instead, go to the "Friends & Chat" option located at the bottom right of the screen and look for available friends playing the game. If you see any friends playing the game, click the drop-down button and click on "Join/Play."

This will take you directly to the lobby and does not cause Drop Pod stuck issues.

Unfortunately, this method does not always work.

For PlayStation 5, you will need to delete the application and reinstall it without any forced console shutdown. A forced shutdown corrupts the data while a game downloads or damages the integrity of downloaded files. This could potentially harm the overall download and install package and potentially cause various errors, such as the Drop Pod stuck issue.
