Where To Find Dragon Roaches
Dragon Roaches are new enemies introduced in the latest update, and they're hard to miss. When in the terminid sector on a hive planet within the Gloom, you'll find one, if not multiple Dragon Roaches overhead. On the lowest difficulties, you won't find any, but starting around level five and six, they'll start to pop up.
A horrid screech will rip through the air and the Dragon Roach will swoop down and enter the fray. These massive creatures are dangerous, and you'll need to come prepared if you want to survive an encounter with one.
How To Kill Dragon Roach Terminids
The best thing you can do is bring an exo suit like the Patriot to arm yourself. Not only does it provide ample ammo, but the mech works as armor against the Dragon Roach's acid attack. You can survive without one, but only if you dive to the side when it sprays.
The Dragon Roaches are the terminid equivalent of the Illuminate Stringray ships.
You'll have plenty of time to watch the skies when the dragon circles, and a window of opportunity to strike before diving out the way. Unlike the Stingray ships the Illuminate use, the Dragon Roach isn't heavily armored. Since it's a biological creature, it can be struck with lasers, bullets, and more easily.
Aim for the head to do the most damage, as a Quasar blast can bring it down in just a few tries. A laser cannon can tear its wings apart if your aim is good, but it's better to pump the dragon full of steel. The Recoiless Rifle is a good option for this, as well as the Spear.
After enough damage has been done, the dragon will collapse to the ground. Don't let your guard down, though, as where there's one Dragon Roach, you're likely to find another not far behind.
