There are many moving parts in Hell Is Us. While it's undeniable that the game's core guiding principle is that of player agency, forcing you to rely on your own wits to navigate the world, it has more good traits than just that. The worldbuilding is exceptional, with the many layers of Hadea's history unraveling as you dive deeper.

The Auriga Museum, located deep underground, is one of those areas that lays bare many of the conspiracies at the heart of the game, but gives an insight into how some of the ordinary people of this country are torn away from their families, all for the sake of someone else's profit. But at least you can return their keepsakes.

How To Start The Mementos Good Deed

Within the multiple levels of the Auriga Museum, you will find a training area on one of its earlier floors. Once you enter, you will be forcibly pit against a series of Lymbic Entities, so be prepared to fight against them for a while. Each time a new wave comes out, more doors open around the area, with some of these lead to the cells in which prisoners were kept.

Within two of these cells, you will find items. One of them is the Hand-Made Ring, while another has the Cigarette Case. After picking either of them up, the Mementos Good Deed will start, though do make sure to collect them both, or else you won't be able to complete the Good Deed.

Now we just need to know where to actually bring these items. Thankfully, some hints are just around the corner.

Returning The Items

Back in the viewing room where the scientist was overlooking your performance in the training room is a computer. Check out this computer to get an idea of who these items may have belonged to, and the areas in which they originally lived. One was Sabinian, while the other was Palomist. To that end, you can at last tell that both of them would have come from very different parts of the country.

Hand-Made Ring

First, let's return the Hand-Made Ring. Based on the simplicity of it, it's fair to assume it was created by a child for their parent, which is indeed the correct assumption. There aren't many children you interact with in the game, which narrows down the people you should be giving this to dramatically.

You may recall earlier in the game, back in Vyssa Hills, that Atticus mentions a refugee camp he is part of. At this camp were a few other people, including a child by the name of Dag. This ring was made by him, so you can return it to him now to complete this part of the quest.

If you've already completed the Heart of Gold Good Deed that has the refugee camp evacuated with the use of an ON vehicle, then you can instead find Dag back at the Caddell Farm in Senedra Forest.

Cigarette Case

The Cigarette Case can be a bit more confusing, though we at least know we have to go to Marastan. The Cigarette Case was given to Tibor Ziad by his wife with his engraved initials, so it's her that we're looking for. However, she is currently nowhere to be found in Marastan. This is because she's wrapped up in another Good Deed you must complete first.

When you pass through Marastan, you may encounter a large barn that you can hear crying from, but no way to enter. Ziad's wife is one of these people. To learn about this, you must repair the fusebox in at least one home around Marastan and then listen to the distress signal over the radio. After this, you can talk to the man near the river closer to where the APC is parked to recruit his help in saving them.

However, he has no fuel in his boat. However, you can find more on the dock around the camp of Palomist soldiers at the foot of the Blood Queen statue. Once you've picked this up, return it to him and he will promise to stage the rescue as soon as possible. You must leave Marastan after this and return again for events to update.

Once you return, the man's house will be open, with the women he saved will be inside. Find the woman named Linda Gratton and return the Cigarette Case to her. It may only be adding to her woes now, but at least it's a degree of closure.

With that, the Mementos Good Deed is completed.

As always, don't forget to return to Gildas to get a proper reward for completing this Good Deed.
