At its best, Discover is one of Hearthstone’s most well-liked mechanics. While overuse of the keyword has led to more randomness than some would like in the past, the combination of skill expression and controlled randomness it provides adds a lot to any game it appears in.

The only card game to encourage going AFK.
PostsIn Battlegrounds, you Discover a card any time you play a golden minion, so you’ll encounter this mechanic often. However, there are also minions that come with the effect innately, and it's good to know which of them you should be looking out for in Bob’s Tavern.
7 Reef Explorer
Underwater Exploration Is Risky, But Rewarding
If you already have a well-defined board, Reef Explorer isn’t going to help you much. After all, its description explicitly states that it won’t give you what you are looking for.
That said, it is still good value, and if you are just trying to cycle through minions efficiently, getting two minions for the price of one is a great deal.
Additionally, if you don’t have anything going for you and are looking for some sort of direction, Reef Explorer might be able to provide one for you.
6 Orgozoa, The Tender
Don't Mistake Tenderness For Weakness
Orgozoa, the Tender's primary role is helping you find the most important Nagas, like Glowscale or Tidemistress Athissa. But since many of the available Nagas have Spellcraft themselves, Orgozoa also basically guarantees you multiple sources of Spellcraft each turn to activate Naga synergies.
Unfortunately, not being a Naga itself means those synergies usually won't benefit Orgozoa itself. As a result, this minion can be difficult to justify keeping around in the late game, since a 3/7 has basically no impact in combat.
5 Imposing Percussionist
Sound The Drums Of War
The two main ways to boost your Demons in Battlegrounds are to play more Demons and to intentionally deal damage to your own Hero. The Imposing Percussionist can do both of those things at the same time.

From Thori’belore to Zilliax, here are the best Rush minions in Hearthstone!
PostsThe minion is best played alongside Soul Rewinder, which reverses any damage dealt to you during your turn, as some of the higher-cost Demons will take a significant chunk out of your life total. That means Imposing Percussionist is often actively detrimental to use if you aren’t playing a Demon build, but in the right situation, it’s one of the best minions you can find.
If you triple Soul Rewinder using Imposing Percussionist's effect, it will leave the board and go into your hand, and therefore won't be able to prevent any damage.
4 Disco Shuffler
Disco Never Dies
Disco Shuffler will often be played for its non-discover effect, which has more utility than the alternative. There are a variety of builds that have a Battlecry they would like to use again, and the Shuffler lets you do that without finding another copy of the Battlecry minion in Bob’s Tavern.
That said, sometimes you are looking for either a specific Battlecry minion that you don't already have, or Battlecry minions in general (as you might in a Kalecgos build). In such cases, the Shuffler’s Discover effect can be exactly what you need.
The Disco Shuffler's Battlecry-triggering effect will be duplicated by Brann Bronzebeard, but the Discover ability won't be, since it is a Choose One effect, not a Battlecry.
3 Patient Scout
Patience Is A Virtue
It is crucial to remember that you can easily be too patient with Patient Scout. A 1/1 doesn’t have much board impact, and if the rest of your board isn’t strong enough, you will rapidly hemorrhage life.
As a result, it can often be better to either steer clear of the Scout, or sell it early and settle for a lower Tier reward. However, if you can afford to wait for a Tier 6 minion (or a Tier 7 when they are available), you can use your early access to those minions to catch back up to other players and start to dominate the game.
2 Primalfin Lookout
Aaaaaughibbrgubugbugrguburgle!
It is a general rule in Battlegrounds that the more minions of a certain type you have the better, and Murlocs follow this pattern more closely than most, with a variety of different buffs and interlocking synergies. Primalfin Lookout is one of the most efficient ways to take advantage of this fact, especially if you have Brann Bronzebeard in play to double its effect.

Looking for HIghlander cards? The expansion Showdown in the Badlands brought quite a few. Here are the strongest and most useful ones.
PostsIn the best case, Primalfin Lookout finds the exact Murloc you need to finish your build, and even in the worst-case scenario, you’ll still get a buff or additional value. The requirement that you have another Murloc on board will occasionally be a minor nuisance, but more often than not, you’ll forget that it even exists.
1 King Varian
The King Is Dead. Long Live The King.
Some of the other Tier 7 minions will be better for specific builds than King Varian, but few are so universally useful. There are plenty of cases where two Tier 6 minions (or the right Tier 6 minion) will be better than a Tier 7.
Of course, you would rather have the guaranteed impact of a Tier 7 minion that is strong in your build, as there is always the chance that King Varian will give you an array of useless minions to choose from. However, with King Varian given a total of six options, the odds that you will hit at least one copy of a minion you are looking for is fairly high.
