While a large part of Harvestella is the JRPG-style narrative and the slew of side quests that help you get to know the people living in the various towns, there’s another important part of the game that you shouldn’t overlook: your farm. You can grow different kinds of crops and take care of livestock, but how do you get started?

You can have two kinds of livestock on your farm — Cluffowl and Woolum — both of which can be purchased from a Conellu Merchant in Lethe Village. Before that, though, you’ll need somewhere for them to stay, and a good source of feed to keep them happy.

Purchasing Cluffowl And Woolum Pens

To be able to house livestock on your farm, you’ll need to build a Cluffowl Pen and Woolum Pen for each species respectively. You can request this from the Renovator in Lethe Village, whose shop is located down the lane on the first left once you enter the village. It will take one in-game day for the building of the pen to be complete.

As well as Grilla, you will need certain materials to build and level up your pens.

You will need to build both pens to house both species on your farm. Cluffowl cannot live in Woolum Pens, and vice versa.

You can only have one pen each on your farm, but you can level up the pens to increase the number of livestock you can keep there.

Unlocking The Conellu Emporium And Purchasing Livestock

With your livestock pens built, you're now ready to purchase Cluffowl and Woolum. These can be purchased once per day from the Conellu Merchant in Lethe Village, but to unlock the Conellu Emporium, you will first have to find the Conellu Doll in Higan Canyon.

If you want to purchase multiple Cluffowl or Woolum, you'll have to wait until the next day, when the Conellu Merchant has another in stock.

The Conellu Merchant also sells feed, which you can place in Cluffowl and Woolum Pens once a day to build your affection with the animals. This will ensure that they produce milk and eggs. You will need to purchase enough feed so that there's enough for one piece of feed per animal.

How To Make Cluffowl And Woolum Feed

Purchasing Cluffowl and Woolum Feed from the Conellu Merchant is expensive over time, but luckily, there's another way to get your hands on this feed.

You can make a Feed Maker and use crops grown from your farm or items foraged from the ground to make feed for both species of animals. The Feed Maker recipe can also be purchased from the Conellu Merchant for 200 Grilla.

To make a Feed Maker, you will need two pieces of Lumber and two pieces of Rusty Metal. It will take 40 in-game minutes for the Feed Maker to be completed.

Grain-based crops can be inserted into the Feed Maker to make Cluffowl Feed, whereas leaf-based crops can be inserted to make Woolum Feed. Inserting one of each crop will always produce four pieces of feed.

If you have both Cluffowl and Woolum on your farm, make two Feed Makers so that you can produce both types of feed each day.

You can also obtain Feed Maker Lv 2 and Feed Maker Lv 3 recipes by progressing Unicorn's character story and collecting 30 Conellu Dolls respectively; however, the standard Feed Maker is enough to make a decent about of feed for your farm initially.

Cluffowl And Woolum Products

Feeding your Cluffowl and Woolum every day ensures that you will receive products from them. Cluffowl will lay one egg each day, and Woolum will provide one bottle of milk each day. Both eggs and milk can be sold, processed using various Makers, or used as cooking ingredients.

If you pet your animals each day, their affection for you will increase, and there is a chance that they will produce higher quality eggs and milk.

You are only able to pet your livestock when they are outside. If it rains, they will stay inside the Pens and you won't be able to pet them that day.

Livestock also have the chance to drop extra, sellable items if you have a high enough affection rating with them.
