How To Get Iron

Iron is found while exploring the Rift of Thessaly on the surface. The item's spawn is not guaranteed and it is always a random event. Unlike Moly, Lotus, and Shaderot, Melinoe can not pick iron with her bare hands. For this, you will require a Crescent Pick tool to extract iron, as shown in the video above.

You get three iron items every time you mine the cannonballs.

How To Reach The Rift of Thessaly

When you first exit the Training Room, you will notice that the path to the surface is blocked by a ward. The surface ward can be broken after unlocking the Permeation of Witching-Wards incantation. You can not destroy the barrier very early in the game as you require the following crafting materials:

• One Cinder
• One Shadow
• Three Moly

After getting all the three crafting materials we mentioned above, you can unlock the incantation and break the surface ward. You will find two biomes on the surface, the ruined City Ephyra and the Rift of Thessaly.

Where To Use Iron

Most of the crafting materials are used to unlock incantations and iron is no different. Use iron to unlock the Sandy Lifespring, which gives Melinoe a healing spot in the Rift of Thessaly biome to regain her lost HP.

Greater Favor of Gaia is another incantation that unlocks gathering tools upgrade options in the game.

You can collect more items per run after you have upgraded the tools. Crescent Pick Rank II is one such upgrade option that requires iron materials.
