It's been almost two weeks since the release of God of War: Ragnarok's 3.0 update, and that has given God of War fans plenty of time to practice their photography skills in Ragnarok's new photo mode. That practice sure seems to have paid off, because some budding Midgardian photographers have already gotten very, very good.

For those who haven't dabbled yet, Ragnarok's photo mode lets you take pictures with far greater fidelity and more image options than merely taking a screen cap. You can mess with field of view, camera angles, focal length, shutter controls, and lighting. You can also add filters to give your photos a little enhanced gravitas or alter the facial expressions of your subjects. You can even remove characters from any given scene to take clean environmental shots, too.

Most of what people have been doing on the God of War subreddit has been taking amazing photographs of big daddy Kratos, such as the shot above courtesy of ToSpaceFor8. The Blades of Chaos seem to be particularly photogenic as they offer dynamic poses for Kratos as well as fiery lighting effects that further enhance the dramatic scene. Plus, they look really cool.

Not all Kratos shots feature the Blades of Chaos, however. Here are a few from user Positive-Stomach9987 featuring the Leviathan Axe, and another few shots from HeeHee-HaHa using the Draupnir Spear. The Draupnir Spear also showcases just how the game's visual effects can sometimes result in some strange expressions.

Or you can just take out the middle man and go straight to the strange expressions, which is precisely what Redditor Piston_Door has done.

There are more over on the God of War subreddit, so check 'em out when you get the chance. And in case you missed it, God of War is becoming a TV series. Amazon confirmed the news of a live-action series coming to Prime streaming sometime in the future. We don't know when or who will play Kratos, but we do know that Wheel of Time writer and executive producer Rafe Judkins run the show.
